Sunshiny Day.....

I find one of the easiest ways to turn my mood around is to wear bright colours. Sometimes when we're in a bad mood, we'll have this tendency to reach out for the darkest gloomiest outfit in our closet. I was reading somewhere that wearing dark outfits when you're already in a "state" can further dampen our mood throughout the whole day. So ask yourself why would you want to stay in a rut???

I love donning the colour yellow, especially if I'm in one of my moods. I will pair the outfit with black or white to tone it down a little. For such an attention grabbing colour I'll choose heavier textures such as wool for structure or soft chiffon for the flow. I'll also stay clear from shiny textures such as satin or silk as it tends to make me look heavier. I guess if you're stick thin go for it :p

Who other turn to other than my style icon Blair Waldorf ( I know Gossip Girls, is so 2009 but awesome style stays forever :p)

I was browsing for a new yellow blazer for myself, when  I came across several adorable winter outfits for little girls.  I don't know why but the sight of little girls in winter wear would usually increase their cuteness factor by tenfolds.

Since we're in Malaysia we have no use for cute little pea coats and fur vest so there's no good reason for me to purchase any. Even if we're going to a cold country anytime in the near future (wishing is free :p) these coats are not cheap (at least not the ones that I like la) spending RM300 each on something that the twins will wear just for a few days is all kinda stupid....

Maybe I should make monthly trips to Snow World to justify buying these outfits for Iman and Ranya. Excuse the craziness, It's a Monday. I'm always a bit crazy (er) on a Monday hehehe

The Twins Hari Raya #OOTD

Before doing a proper Hari Raya post, I'm gonna post a fluff post on the girls Hari Raya outfits :) Having "A" girl is great, having twin girls? AWESOME especially when it comes to dressing them up. I had so much fun shopping for their "coordinated" but not too matchy-matchy Raya outfits.

Shopping takes on an entirely different spin nowadays, having to take into consideration, what they have and new thing they need (or I think they need) Too bad I'm still not successful in getting them to be interested in accessories. Shoes, they love (yeay!!) but headbands, hair ribbons and the likes of it, usually don't stay long on their head and would be yanked off after a few seconds -__-

Day 1 Aidilfitri : Pink Peplum Cupcakes Baju Kurung. I've had the cuppies material for ages and finally found the right use for it :) so I got 2 contrasting material for the tops because I'm not keen on making identical clothes for the girls. Majorly adorable (I'm their mum, I can over compliment my children if I want too :p)
Day 2 Aidilfitri: Green Daisy Top and Yellow skinnies on Ranya and Green Tulip Dress on Iman from Gymboree for our Raya in Malacca :)
Day 3 Aidilfitri: Najavo Print dresses from The Children Place for a swinging day in Bertam Jaya :) They had on a different DVF Gap Dress later on the day when we were in Merlimau but too bad I didn't manage to snap any decent pic of it...
Day 4 Aidilfitri: My fave outfit on the girls are these matching navy dresses with chevron prints from Baby Gap. Awesome pussom all camera ready for our Raya in Tanjung Malim hehehe
Day 5 Aidilfitri : For their Pak Lang's engagement on Monday they had on these gorgeous dresses we got from GM Klang. Green chiffon dresses with flower applique and beading :) Value for money

Day 6 Aidilfitri : another fave outfit.. recycled Upin and Ipin outfits courtesy of Ryan's wardrobe which he generously "donated" to dedek. Heheheh

Day 6 Aidilfitri (the girls 2nd #ootd for beraya) : bow tops from Trudy and Teddy and Tutu skirts from GM Klang :)
This is what you get when you want to post something but don't really have the time to type down a proper entry : a boring (but cute) outfit postings, be thankful at least it is not a selfie of myself hahaha. Selamat Hari Raya all and Happy Working (or not) !!!

Just one one of those days....

I WANT these
(ok maybe not ALL just one each for the girls will do :p)

I know it is not practical and the girls grow up so fast...
It is also quite expensive -__-
and I usually don't go crazy for designer clothes for my kids because YES I do read about Dr Muhaya's opinion about spoiling our kids very early on in life *pffftttt*
(but let me justify that this is actually cheaper than what they're selling in one of those "leading" Malaysian online shop and it's DVF not some cikai designer)

Yeah I freaking sound pretencious and I hate sounding like this but I really like this line for some reason, I can imagine the girls wearing this for Raya... I don't even mind if this is to be their only non baju kurung baju raya because I want it I want it and I want it...

So saya akan beristigfar, take a deep breath and I'm gonna do what I always do when I want something real bad even when I know I shouldn't. I will wait for a few days and see whether it is really something I want or is it just one of those "in the moment nafsu thingmajingy) and if I still feel like I want these dresses on let see, MONDAY?? I shall just go and buy it..As for the moment I shall delete these from my "shopping bag" and try to forget it existed for a while hehehe

Psycho mummy alert mode... or more like psycho shopaholic mental problem mode hahaha

SOLE Necessity

I’m in need of some new shoes. Most of my shoes especially my gorgeous heels feels a bit too tight. Maybe it is because I’m a bit out of practice after close to 10 months of being out of 3-4 inch heels but I think my feet just grew a size. You know what they say about the whole pregnancy causing your feet to swell and horror to horror- it may not go back to its original size after birth (I’m sure my husband is rolling his eyes while reading this thinking that I’m making things up as I go along so that I have an excuse to go shoe shopping)

Maybe it is the whole being pregnant with twins thingy, my feet didn’t really swell when I was pregnant with Ryan but it did during my pregnancy with Iman & Ranya. I think I was wearing size 8 slippers instead of my normal size 6. Anyway I’m eyeing a bunch of flats (and maybe ONE pair of black heels). I’m addicted to flats at the moment because I guess with 3 babies running around in heels is not a good idea especially since I’m a certified klutz.

Love the ones from French Sole (a favorite of Duchess of Cambridge HRH Katherine Middleton) but it is a bit out of my price range at the mo. The ones that I like is around 90 pounds (RM450??) I think I rather spend the money on a new bag: p Anyways Charles and Keith has some nice new collection of flats but I think I’ll drop by Debenham one of these days for some nice shiny black flats. The price is reasonable (below 100), comfy (a MUST) and most importantly stylish. I’ve bought a few pairs of shoe from Debenham before and I LOVE it. Pakai sampai koyak which knowing me rarely happen sebab I usually get bored after 3 months hehehe.

Feast your eyes on some designs from French Sole. I think there’s an outlet available in KLCC if you’re interested to burn some hard earned ca$h :p Happy Monday everyone. Hopefully we’ll all have a good week ahead *insyallah*

I want... I want... I want...

Browsing for a dress to wear to Jessie's wedding when I stumbled upon this one. I have no idea who's the designer but I love the design.

In L.O.V.E, however, it is too late to bring the fabric to my tailor to recreate this for Raya. I'm planning on owning one in a different colour :p something in light pastel - mint green with pink embroideries maybe? GORGEOUS!! . Shall keep this in mind while buying fabric during our planned Jakarta trip in September :) *insyallah*

Thank god the dress is not readily available in store/online or I'll end up being one of those tacky LOA women who goes around trying to upstage the bride :p I don't know maybe I'm old fashioned but you just don't wear white to another person's wedding, right??

Marchesa Fabulous

I'm seeing a lot of Marc.hesa gowns on the red carpet lately and you know what? I want one. The dresses are gorgeous and the intricate detailing is just to die for.

Disregard the fact that I can't afford one or the fact that even if for some reason I strike it rich, I have no place to wear it to. Well, I just want one of these gorgeous babies hanging in my closet. Maybe with a matching Jimmy Choo :p

I don't ask for much, do I? Please *cherries on top*

My Top 10 Fashion Essentials

I’m itching to go clothes shopping. As usual there’s nothing that I need, just unnecessary things that I want. Since the house “beautification project” is still ongoing (I suspect it’s going to be a yearlong project due to budget constraints) I have to be more frugal with my spending.

Anyway I decided to clean up my 2 suitcases + 3 boxes of clothes first before I go clothes shopping. I’m planning to throw/ give away/alter clothes that are torn, unwearable due to style/size/comfort factors. No more hoarding old clothes in hope that I shall one day fit again in my size 24 Levis (I’ve accepted that this ass is beyond going to its pre Ryan size :p) I shall not be obsessed with the no (size) on the clothes and pay attention on what fits me right.

I’m giving myself about 2-3 weeks to complete the project (when you have a one year old running around the house with no additional help other than your husband, a 3 hours chore would now take days to complete)

To prepare myself, I’ve read up columns/articles on basic fashion essential to free myself from unnecessary “fashion victim/ whim purchases/ heartbreak shopping” clutter. I’ve made some amendments to Tim Gunn top 10 fashions essential according to my personal preference and the fact that I’m wearing a hijab.

This is my top 10 fashion essentials :-

1. White button down shirt - For work and play

2. Crisp black pants - Inexpensive but beautifully tailored

3. Boy friend cardigan - Essential to cover up while wearing fitted tops

4. Little (in my case Maxi) black dress - for every occasion :)

5. Maxi Skirts - I love this when I'm all lazy and need something a bit more dressier than jeans

6. Jeans - A nice fitted pair :) No muffin tops + hug areas that are not meant to be hugged

7. Sweaters - if you have the $$$ invest on Cashmere...

8. Blazer - for work and during those times when you want to jazz up your jeans + baby T outfit

9. Baju kurung - office baju kurung (nice fit/subtle designs/no labucci + overly beading)

10. Lazy long sleeve shirts :)

Once I'm done with my closet revamp, I shall make a list of things that is "missing" in my wardrobe and go crazy shopping :) *arrgghh* I'm now embracing the shopping with a purpose concept *grin*

In My Very Own Dream(Bag)Land....

Since I'm a total dunce and did not upload pictures from Ryan's bday "party" yesterday (which I will do tomorrow) I shall make it up with another IMPORTANT post...

You see I've gotten my pay + bonus for this year (it's neither GOOD nor is it bad, I'm just thankful) . Majority of the $$$ would be spent on the house (sad but necessary :( ) but after having to put up with one of the most difficult supervisor i.e. tai chi master for a year. I think I deserve a treat.

And that treat should come in the form of this Anya Hindmarch Vernis Bag as seen on the fashion guru herself Blair Waldorf :) The one Blair is carrying is a few season back but the new line is even prettier with an even sturdier handle (must have for a mum like moi)

I can't make up my mind, should I or should I not?? I know the design is very "simple" and may look a bit B O R I N G but I need a new bag for work -something a bit more classic rather than my usual choice of bright red and hot pink bags.

Let see what my "financial advisor" have to say about this intended purchase... huhuhu

SHOULD I GET A MATCHING SHOE WITH MY IMAGINARY NEW BAG?

I love this Pierre Hardy heels spotted on Leighton Meester during a Herbal Essences event. Mimpi jelah the shoes retail at USD 1,053 (about RM3500++ in Malaysia) I rather buy my Boston instead :p

Very pretty up close right :)

Run-A-Way Fashion...

Some of the key pieces on the Fall-Winter 2010 Fashion must have list are the Maxi skirts :) I'm dying for one (or maybe 20 ha-ha) but of course I have to behave and not waste money on things I don't need (but want).

I guess if you're wearing a hijab and are finding new ways to revamp your style/closet, but are not adventerous enough to go the "harem pants" way -> Maxi's (dress/skirts) are the way to go.

Anyway I've compiled a short maxi skirt wishlist. I hope the new line would be in by xmas and you can guess what I would be spending my meager bonus on :p In the meantime I saw the most gorgeous citrus coloured skirt in one of the Thai fair and is planning on getting one (it is also way cheaper than any of the skirt on the wishlist) :p

1. Topshop Stained Glass Maxi Skirt
2. Topshop Patchwork Stripe Maxi- Kate Moss Special Edition
3. Miss Selfridge Animal Printed Maxi
4. F21 Metallic Knit Maxi
5. F21 Black Lace Maxi
6. Longline Tulle Skirt- This is not practical but I love love this, whimsical but with with a simple t-shirt it won't be so over the top :p

Annual Dinner 2010- Masquerade Carnivale'

Date : 12 November 2010
Venue : Kuala Lumpur Convention Center
Theme: Masquerade Carnivale'

I had some problems on deciding my outfit for the night :p I had to make a choice between 1 black dress, 2 kaftan like dress and a kebaya. For some reason none feels right. I almost spend Rm400 on a new dress but for some reason I had a strong feeling against it :p

Inspired by the latest Vampire Diaries Masquerade Episode :p I decided to go for something short. I remembered this dress that I bought in Jakarta 2 years ago - a green silk mini sequined dress (it fits b*tches haha) and paired it with a black inner/leggings, cotton scarf, headband + bracelet from F21, Audrey Guess clutch and CK slingbacks

With Nina and Syer in the KLCC vampy bathroom

Anyway this is also my first attempt on putting on fake eyelashes on my own... Thank god it stayed on (after using half a bottle of eyelash glue)... I also did my own make up. I think it looked kinda good (haha puji diri sendiri) but it took me close to 2 hours to complete the look I wanted...

With hubby.... I love my mask... itz now sitting in my car :p

With YAH, NDE and SIA :)

With Azizi, Ashraff, Nicky D, Nina D and Syer

P/S: Performance was by Najwa Muhyiddin (she's good), food was s0-so, GREAT company but the event was a bit draggy and it finishes quite late...but all in all it was a good night...
PP/S: Limited pictures because I was a total dungu and forgot to charge my DSLR camera, managed to take 6 pics and the battery went "kong". Will upload the pics soon. The above pics are taken by my BB :)
PPP/S: Uploading pics on my weekend soon....

Nothing of substance (Part II)

After weeks of crazy assignment submission dates, annoying work presentation, never ending request of information and research and having to work on a project with my least favourite person on the face of this earth, I finally found a lull moment where I can actually BREATHE... It is so refreshing when you don't have anything to do for a change :) Big Grin!!!10 minutes to lunch time and I'm thinking of Pink and Turquoise :) You'll know why when the time comes....

Shopaholic Mode : Part 267

I had a bit of a shopping relapse today :p I was feeling crappy due to some insane old man @work, and I was a bit worried that I haven't finish my 15,000 words World Trade Assignment due this Friday, so I decided that I deserve a treat, to remind myself how fabulous I am (hahaha). I decided to do a bit of online research before going to Topshop OU during lunch time. Initial plan of combat is to locate, try and buy. Good Plan? Yes!! Execution? *sigh*

I needed a new blazer for work so I shortlisted this 3 beauties from Topshop : 3/4 sleeves blazer, Ruched Sleeve Blazer in Tan and the Pleat Sleeve Jersey Jacket

Tengah browse saw this other items. In my head was rationalizing my excuse to buy them. It's long sleeve, It's difficult to get pretty one piece item esp when you're wearing hijab and it's funky but appropriate without being mumsy ect... So I shortlisted this 4 item just in case it's on the racks of Topshop (sangatlah foresighted when it comes to shopping) : Flute Sleeve Smock Dress, Peacock Kimono Print cardi, Tattoo 2in1 Dress and 60 Ponti's Shift Dress :)

The damage? Not that bad since lunch took too long to arrive :p I ended up buying this Printed Crepe Kimono Top, which looks a million times better in real life :) I'm so coming back next month for the blazer and the peacock cardi, which I can't take off my mind and hoping for it to be on the clearance rack soon :p

Anyway I got 10% off as I was a Fashion Fwd Member and an additional RM25 voucher for god knows what reason. Can use it to get my blazer
(will not stray from intended purchase this time ;p)

I'm totally eyeing this adorable Bimba & Lola Bow Print Flats, but it's a bit out of the budget at the moment. We received the good news that we're probably getting the house keys sometime in the near future which translate to legal fees + contractor bills :p Well my feet won't look too fabulous but at least saya sudah ada tempat berteduh *alhamdullilah*

I guess growing up means choosing your priority even if it means no shoe shopping *wink2* :)

Closet Revamp...

Cardinal rule of shopping no 170: Thou shall not shop when you're hungry. Thou might end up with useless stuff that you don't need and not necessary even want by the end of the day.

To avoid being caught in one of those situation, I decided to do something useful during lunch time like MY ASSIGNMENTS. Tough luck, I can't concentrate because I'm hungry (or lazy??)

I was going through my favourite fashion blog list and I remembered this awesome blog called "New Dress A Day" . The owner M*arisa L*ynch made a decision to not go retail shopping for a year and instead make do with buying ugly thrifts clothing item to be revamp into gorgeous outfits. Her motto? 365 new dresses for $365 in 365 days. How cool is that? I wish I have that kind of talent (patience) where I can turn my old clothes into something cool without having to buy new dress every time :p

Since I'm in the process of moving at the end of the year, I'm mentally going through my 4 wardrobes of clothes in Klang and Shah Alam(freaky right?) and start freaking with the amount of junk I have. I can safely say the I have at least one wardrobe full of clothes that I don't want, can't fit, no longer proper, koyak etc. Maybe I should start weeding all of the unwanted clothes out and keep the clothes that I want to wear and maybe even revamp some of my old clothes into new funky outfits.

Maybe I can pull a Mar*issa and not go clothes shopping for a year. Think of all the money I can save?Probably I will have enough money at the end of the year for a substantial purchase like a new diamond bracelet or a gorgeous Birkin or two ( I'm hungry so I'm a bit delusional hahah). Anyway I'm going to leave you with some photo's taken from the website. Do google her, love her website :p

From frumpy to funky

I love the second outfit :)

The one on headbands

I have a thing for headbands... The craze started way before Gossip Girls. My love for Blair only intensify the obsession... Headbands are the only accessory in my book that is low maintenance in terms of outfit matching...

Bangles are usually too big for my hand, rings get in the way and necklaces can be tricky... so I usually opt for headbands :) I have a whole box of headbands that I plan to hand down to my daughter someday (along with my shoes, bags and wedding dress)

I love ones with blings :) like the one I wore for my hen night

Love them turban style

even the one from pasar malam can make you look good

you can wear two at once...

or go for a single combo, for a more subtle demure look (like real)

Medium size headbands but with metallic gold colour can add zing to any outfit

Put on a YELLOW headband for the POP effect

or go for the impossibly large PINK ones to a special event

She made it look so effortless kan :)
The reason for this long post is that I've fallen in love with several headbands from S*erena & S*hentel. It's way more affordable than those headbands by J*ennifer Behr that Blair can be seen parading around but it's still pricey..Considering that I'm now wearing tudung exclusively (as compared as to"once in a while" as b4 haha) it's a bit of a waste to spend all the $$ for headbands no matter how gorgeous it looks...
Maybe just one... or maybe two.... we'll see... hahahah

G O R G E O U S and OTT - just like me... hahaha

Need I say more? nice rite?
