Sunshiny Day.....

I find one of the easiest ways to turn my mood around is to wear bright colours. Sometimes when we're in a bad mood, we'll have this tendency to reach out for the darkest gloomiest outfit in our closet. I was reading somewhere that wearing dark outfits when you're already in a "state" can further dampen our mood throughout the whole day. So ask yourself why would you want to stay in a rut???

I love donning the colour yellow, especially if I'm in one of my moods. I will pair the outfit with black or white to tone it down a little. For such an attention grabbing colour I'll choose heavier textures such as wool for structure or soft chiffon for the flow. I'll also stay clear from shiny textures such as satin or silk as it tends to make me look heavier. I guess if you're stick thin go for it :p

Who other turn to other than my style icon Blair Waldorf ( I know Gossip Girls, is so 2009 but awesome style stays forever :p)

I was browsing for a new yellow blazer for myself, when  I came across several adorable winter outfits for little girls.  I don't know why but the sight of little girls in winter wear would usually increase their cuteness factor by tenfolds.

Since we're in Malaysia we have no use for cute little pea coats and fur vest so there's no good reason for me to purchase any. Even if we're going to a cold country anytime in the near future (wishing is free :p) these coats are not cheap (at least not the ones that I like la) spending RM300 each on something that the twins will wear just for a few days is all kinda stupid....

Maybe I should make monthly trips to Snow World to justify buying these outfits for Iman and Ranya. Excuse the craziness, It's a Monday. I'm always a bit crazy (er) on a Monday hehehe

Let's get SARKY.....

I was googling for sarcastic birthday cards (becoz that is just the way I roll haha) and I stumbled into some of this "someecards" which totally matches  my feelings/mood at the moment....

You know posts like "Far is feeling empty, dejected and heartbroken" - Pastu when people ask them about it they'll go all "nothing, I'll be fine in a month...." Tapi dying for people to keep on asking sebenarnya :p

Ahhhh my fave. These people will post things like "thou shall not backbite and talk bad about your sisters as it is like eating their flesh etc" but in real life their fave past time is to back stab people left, right and center. My problem is they give people who is serious about "hijrah" a bad name. When you don't practice what you preach, you'll lose credibility that when you do talk about things that is proper dakwah. People may also ignore you sebab people just think everything coming out of your mouth is hypocrisy......

Hahaha yup some people just thrive for the drama, takde drama pun carik drama jugak.

The only problem with the above is just because they LOVE the drama, they think everybody around them appreciates it too... Please leave me alone as I don't want to  co star in your straight to DVD c-rated productions.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh "friends" who'll be there for you when they need you :) and at the same time complaint that we never go out anymore because "you" did not call them. Marilah bersangka baik, maybe their phones only work ONE way......

Agree to disagree je boleh? and just respect the differences without resorting to further negativity, backstabbing, drama dan lain-lain seperti yang dibincangkan diatas.....

I can't control other people feelings and actions but I can control how I react towards it. Here's to hoping that I can react POSITIVELY towards them. Another thing to keep in mind is I can't control how other people think of me as it is not my problem anyway. So if people don't like me or the things I do it is THEIR problem and I should not waste my time thinking about.

Whatever,beaver!!!!

This and that and nothing much...

All I can say is the 3 days break flew by so fast....

I wished it was longer so that I can spend more time with my munchkins
The problem with weekends is I try to crammed down a gabijillion activities. From outings to visiting to housework... It is very hard for me to just shut down and do nothing. Mainly because I will feel irritated at the end of the day if I don't think the day was spent "productively" enough... So I will usually end up more exhausted by Sunday night instead of feeling rejuvenated.

Oh well.. my choice :p

But that did not stop me from feeling annoyed whenever I read about people who I think (or assume) having lesser responsibilities from me complaining about how busy and tiring their life is. Sometimes I want to shout at them and say things like "you have one kid and 3 maids, how hard can your life be as compared to me maidless, having to take care of 3 kids, keep my house presentable and work at the same time?" but I know those type of thinking is not fair. Different life, different obstacle, huh? So hard to keep things in perspectives at times.

But whenever I feel overwhelmed with things around me... I stop, take a deep breath and count my blessings instead... Maybe I don't have the latest most coveted handbags or on constant trip overseas but I have something even better.... my 4 lil (or not so lil) darlings... They drive me nuts and stress me out but I'm never short of love and attention whenever they are around...

and for that Alhamdullilah :)

With my baby boo Ranya...
Hehehe early morning walk in the park with Iman, Ranya and Ryan on Malaysia Day holiday :)
Lil Miss Iman in her gorgeous Old Navy colour blocking dress :)
Selfies with my man....
Ryan Daniel. My handsome lil man :) After two months of speech therapy I'm happy to report that his speech is improving very well. I think he is just more aware of his speech patterns. People still chastised me for "over reacting" since they dismissed it as plain "pelatness" which a lot of kids have...I agree, maybe Ryan's speech problem was not overly serious, but I have the means and time to help him improve his problems, why shouldn't I? After all knowledge is power, rather than I waste my $$$ on new shoes or clothes at least I know I'm investing somehow in his education.

Miss Ranya Fatimah in her yellow outfit... She's trying to balance herself on the planks.. too cute
The twins are currently suffering from "twin escalation syndrome" It means that they try their very best to gain attention from outdoing each other. For example if one cry the other will cry LOUDER. If one jumps the other will jump HIGHER. It's actually very normal with most twins who experienced "sibling rivalry" at a much bigger scale. It makes sense if you think about it, they are of the same age, have the same needs and developing at the same rate.

They fight hard but they love more fiercely too... Iman is so protective of her little sister, she will get Ranya's bottle, towel etc for her, console and play together. Ranya is so manja with her kakak... You can't help but melt watching them play and laugh together...

Daisypath Vacation tickers
6 more weeks to our family holiday *in sha Allah*.... I can't wait....

Grieving My Loss...

Salam & Hello Everyone,

How was your Raya Break? Hope everyone had a great time with family/friends/loved ones

The start of my Raya break was pretty good. We managed to host an iftar dinner at my house 2 days before Raya, I went shopping with my parents, and celebrated 1st Syawal with my family and in laws. This Raya is more meaningful bacause Ryan is older and able to appreciate the celebration more. I can’t help but smile watching his antics, running around in his full set of baju melayu, sampin and songkok, playing “pop-pop” with my cousins, ordering people around to do his bidding and collecting duit raya.

However, our Raya mood this year was dampen when I was woken up by a phone call from my daddy at 3am on Friday of 4th Syawal informing me that my Nek Jah have passed away. I was in Perak at that time and all I wanted to do was to rushed back to Malacca at once.

During the drive back to Malacca, I kept on telling myself that maybe it was all just a mistake. I just had breakfast with my nenek 2 days before and she was fine. I know she wasn’t feeling well after her heart attack early this Ramadhan but she told me she’s recuperating well.

I remembered telling her to take good care of herself because she has two more cicit incoming this November. She just smiled. Come to think of it, that was a bit weird because she’s usually very excited when the subject of Ryan or the twins came up. She’s also uncharacteristically quiet, preferring to observe the kids playing, smiling at Ryan’s naughty antics and listening to the chatter around her.

I felt a bit terkilan because I didn’t really manage to spend more time with nenek. I wanted to linger around for a bit but we ended up leaving Merlimau in a bit of a rush because Lan wanted to catch his parents who was in Malacca before going back to Klang. My last conversation with nenek was when she complimented my tudung style before I went home; I wished I spend those last precious moments hugging and kissing her instead of wasting my time primping in front of the mirror.

I took it for granted that she’ll always be there for me whenever I needed her. After all she’s been a steady presence in my life for the past 28 years.

I remembered when she ran after me when I decided to "run away" because I merajuk when she reprimanded me for being naughty.

I remembered how she used to nag me when I decided to “main pasir” outside the house, but still accompanied me outside pretending that she’s doing housework padahal she just wanted to make sure I’m safe.

I remembered how she took the bus to Klang 2 days earlier rather than wait for my aunt to finished work so that she can be with me early to help prepare for my wedding.

I remembered how she took my side when I was complaining about my mum’s strict confinement practices and ended up cooking my lunch the day she visisted Ryan and I.

There are a lot of things I remembered and it breaks my heart to think that she’s no longer with us to create more happy memories together. No more listening to her tease me about my “baju artist”, no more eating her delicious cooking, no more listening to her complaint while I snap candid pictures of her without her “bedak”, and to think that the twins won’t be able to meet their Nyang just short of 3 months before their delivery date is just so sad :( I can’t even bring myself to upload Raya pictures because I still can’t accept that those are my last pictures with her.

Nenek, I hope you know how much I love you and that I appreciate how you’ve taken care of Mama, Ayah, Along and Anna as if we’re your own flesh and blood. Thank you for accepting Lan and Abang Nan as your “cucu menantu” and for always spoiling Ryan with hugs and kisses. We will miss you very much.

Ya Allah, kau tempatkan lah arwah nenek ku di kalangan orang yang beriman dan kau ampunkan lah dosa-dosanya. *insyallah*al-fatihah*

I should really update my blog, kan?

Despite loads of events happening in the past 2 weeks : Mother's Day, Graduation Day and My BIRTHDAY. It was ALL awesome *alhamdullilah* but I can't find the energy to post pictures + provide commentary on it. I'm just plain LAZY!!! plus Lan brought my laptop to his induction so I can't edit pics.(yes, hubby is going to be away for the next 10 days, so it's a bit depressing :p)

I know I owe this page pics + post on :
1. Lan's 30th Bday celebration
2. Family trip to PD
3. Convocation Day
4. My Birthday post :p

Will blog on it soon. I promise. Definitely.Maybe. We'll see :)

Of Answered Prayers with a Twist...

I’m kind of busy with work at the moment and to tell you the truth I’m not really in the mood to blog. Something has been bugging me for months and lately I’ve allowed myself to wallow in self pity. It totally triggered my BD PreProitis Smurfing Ephilitis symptoms (haha inside joke: p) funnily enough someone totally unexpected i.e. a male colleague of no importance, notices the change and confronted me about it in a jest. It got me thinking though, why should I feel sorry for myself?

I guess as human we always want things that we can’t have or not meant to have “yet”. I should just be more patient. Maybe it acts as a sign that I should start thinking of alternatives and not be scared to step out of my comfort zone. I realized that great things always happen when I go through a more “challenging” road. Faith is the key.

Yes, I’m rambling but who cares, insignificant toads (chewah) are not meant to understand this. Sorry but I just hate it when “strangers” pretended that they know me just by reading a few blog post a week.

Anyway enough with the negativity. I shall focus on the good things instead. I’m going to turn 28 next month and Alhamdullilah I’ve fulfilled 4/5 of my personal goals of the things I should do before turning 30. I should be thankful; I should be down on my knees performing sujud syukur all the time, for all of the things I’m blessed with

1. When I was 25 and newly engaged I dreamt of starting a family with Lan and now 3 years later I have a beautiful family with a loving husband and a gorgeous son. I also have great parent and in laws and also siblings who I can always depend on. What more can a girl ask for?
2. Lan and I managed to purchase our own house at a young age. Alhamdullilah should anything happen to us at least Ryan would have an asset to call his own. It is not much but it is ours :)
3. After 2 years of hard work, tears and grueling task of balancing between work, studies, marriage, pregnancy and a baby, I’m going to attend my convocation this May where I’ll be receiving a piece of paper stating that I’ve completed my Masters in Corporate Law. It wasn’t easy but I did it...
4. I’ve gone for my Umrah.

Some may view this list as a “braglist” but when I look at this list I feel ashamed for failing to feel thankful in the first place. This post shall act as a reminder of all of my answered prayers.

Speaking of answered prayers, one of the wishes I made during Umrah came true. Well it was an improved version of the wish, a bit unexpected but very much welcome nevertheless. The gift also came with a “test”. So I hope I can successfully endure it. Alhamdullilah and here’s to change :)

Consider this....

Character cannot be developed in ease & quiet. Only through experience of trial & suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, & success achieved.

Shopaholic Mode : Part 267

I had a bit of a shopping relapse today :p I was feeling crappy due to some insane old man @work, and I was a bit worried that I haven't finish my 15,000 words World Trade Assignment due this Friday, so I decided that I deserve a treat, to remind myself how fabulous I am (hahaha). I decided to do a bit of online research before going to Topshop OU during lunch time. Initial plan of combat is to locate, try and buy. Good Plan? Yes!! Execution? *sigh*

I needed a new blazer for work so I shortlisted this 3 beauties from Topshop : 3/4 sleeves blazer, Ruched Sleeve Blazer in Tan and the Pleat Sleeve Jersey Jacket

Tengah browse saw this other items. In my head was rationalizing my excuse to buy them. It's long sleeve, It's difficult to get pretty one piece item esp when you're wearing hijab and it's funky but appropriate without being mumsy ect... So I shortlisted this 4 item just in case it's on the racks of Topshop (sangatlah foresighted when it comes to shopping) : Flute Sleeve Smock Dress, Peacock Kimono Print cardi, Tattoo 2in1 Dress and 60 Ponti's Shift Dress :)

The damage? Not that bad since lunch took too long to arrive :p I ended up buying this Printed Crepe Kimono Top, which looks a million times better in real life :) I'm so coming back next month for the blazer and the peacock cardi, which I can't take off my mind and hoping for it to be on the clearance rack soon :p

Anyway I got 10% off as I was a Fashion Fwd Member and an additional RM25 voucher for god knows what reason. Can use it to get my blazer
(will not stray from intended purchase this time ;p)

I'm totally eyeing this adorable Bimba & Lola Bow Print Flats, but it's a bit out of the budget at the moment. We received the good news that we're probably getting the house keys sometime in the near future which translate to legal fees + contractor bills :p Well my feet won't look too fabulous but at least saya sudah ada tempat berteduh *alhamdullilah*

I guess growing up means choosing your priority even if it means no shoe shopping *wink2* :)

When things go bad.....

Just be thankful that it is not worst...

For the past 2 months, I haven't been too lucky. I lost a very precious present, Ryan and I been sick on and off and some other happenings I rather not mention. When I thought that things couldn't be worst, Ryan was admitted to the hospital for infection and high fever. Doctor mentioned that he could be admitted from 3 to 5 days.

I admit I panicked for a bit thinking of class (I already missed Friday and Saturday class), I only have a limited number of leave left and I need to save some for final exams, I have a 20 page assignment to submit this Friday, meetings and god knows what... I force myself to calm down instantly.

Now that I thought about it, we're actually very lucky. We spotted Ryan's problem on time, he was admitted during the weekend so we managed to save 2 days of leave, my parents is around to help, all hospitalization expenses borne by my company, Ryan received the best treatment from the nurses and being in the single room both Lan and I managed to keep him company all day/night. All in all no reason to sulk.

Well I still have to finish my assignment and I need to submit a report to my boss but I'll find my way around it somehow... seriously if you think juggling between your work life and personal life is hard. Try being a working mother in her final semester doing her Master Degree in Law. The term juggling will take on a whole new interpretation. Trust me it is a whole blog entry by itself :)

3 Days to Night Stay in SJMC :)
Lan and I decided to bring Ryan to SJMC on Saturday after his temperature reach 38.9'C on Friday night. It went down after we gave him his fever medicine but looking at his rapid breathing and his "lemah" face, we decided we wanted to hear what his paed has to say on his condition.

As always, the wait in SJMC is insanely long. Ryan was happily playing in his stroller, eating biscuits. He looks a bit tired though but happy as always. When we went in Dr Sofia's office, she wasn't happy with the way he was breathing. Ryan was wheezing and such so she suggested that Ryan be admitted so that several test can be conducted. At that time she was worried that he had contracted pneumonia/asthma etc so she ordered for chest x-ray, blood test etc.

Dr ordered for Nebulizer treatment to be done every 2 hours and after the 3rd dose every 4 hourly. Ryan will scream and scream because he feel rimas. The fact that the process is continuous does not help. It kind of interrupted his sleep and nap time, so he's extra cranky.

At this time his temperature was 40'c. The nurse had to insert the ubat in his backside so that his temperature will go down fast. They took of his clothes and gave him a shower there and then. Alhamdullilah his temperature went down after an hour or so.

Ryan looks so cute in his hospital gown, hugging Vulli...

Second Day: Mata bengkak from crying his heart out after his physio treatment. The therapist patted his back to loosen the phlegm and sucked out all his mucus from his mouth and nose with a tube. There was so much mucus, and he was gagging. At one point he even sneeze out some blood. Scary!! I thank god that my mum wasn't allowed in the physio therapy room, she would have cried along with Ryan. But seriously you have to be a total ice queen not to feel bad listening to him cry. He cried like as if he was beaten with a stick or something. Thank god right after the procedure, Ryan calmed down instantly when I picked him up.

Seriously SJMC fish porridge is the BOMB... I love it...Lan and I even shared it after Ryan finished eating... They even gave him some creme caramel. Weird, huh? I dunno babies are allowed to eat it. Gave him a taste but he don't like it, so I finish it all out :p

Eating like a total champion. 3 times a day. His Mak Long was teasing him about it :) But he really eat a LOT like his daddy heheh

Wherever Ryan goes, his zoo follows. Meet Tama the Turtle, Sophie Vulli the Giraffe, Mon the Monkey, Bee the Butterfly.
(Not in the picture but keeping guard at home : Octo Paul the Octopus, Elmo the Monster, Kamal the Camel, Ellie the Elephant, Tigger the Tiger and Leo the Lion... hahah penat nak remember all the toys name)

After 16 rounds of Nebulizer, 3 antibiotics jabs, 1 blood test, 1 xray test, countless of medication Ryan is better *alhamdullilah* and recuperating at home. My parents, Lan and I are taking turns in taking care of him at home for the whole week.

We're so proud of you little boy. You take it all like the little champion you are. Despite being sick you're still smiling and playing, charming everyone in sight. Love you babyboo... Anyway call me crazy, but last weekend was actually well spent. We managed to spend quality time together. The 3 of us sharing one small hospital room and taking turns amusing Ryan who's bored with the limited space. However, we had fun right???
Doctor came in with the final diagnose, Ryan is free to go home. No pneumonia and asthma but just minor infection to the lungs (which caused the fever) He just need to take his plastic full of medicine and get plenty of rest. I really thank god that my baby is recovering well...

Who's Ryan Daniel? Ask him that and he will seriously raised up his hand. Cute, no??? hahaha

Went to Chilli's Empire for a quick lunch after Ryan was discharge. Ryan had his mashed potato, no salt, no topping, no nothing but he finished 1/3 of his food :)

After 3 days of hospital food, mummy and daddy deserve a delicious treat :)
Balik hospital mummy and daddy had to handle a huge mountain of laundry and had to kemas bilik... *sigh* I need a maid... anyway back to work and will be on leave again on Thursday and Friday....

Just the Two of Us :)

@ the Loaf Empire

Ryan looking tortured with Maksu Yanni
Handsome boy :)
Ryan with his Paul the Octopus :)
Hey guys, I got a new ride :)
R E S P E C T
I don’t know how all those single mothers do it. Especially those who had no help (family or maids)

Lan wasn’t around on Friday to Sunday attending some course. When he told me I was panicking a bit as I can’t imagine taking care of Ryan PLUS sending him to Gymboree and doing house chores. On top of all this I wasn’t feeling well and was a bit down due to some “mishap” concerning a certain gadget that shall not be mentioned here so as to incriminate me later (lawyer talk :p)

I guess, you got to do what you got to do, the weekend went without a hitch (or nothing major) and I managed to spend quality mummy baby time with Ryan.

Saturday

I went to Gymboree bright and early with Ryan. Persuaded my mum and dad to come along so that they can help take care of Ryan in the car while I drive. Went to my aunties house for lunch and had “rendang itik” and other yummy Nogori Sembilan food. I made croquet for tea, my first venture succeeded, it was yummy and my mum and dad loved it. I think I’ll make more soon. Later my cousin Nurul, Anis and Yanni spend the night at my place. Urrgghh taking care of Anis & Yanni is a bigger challenge than taking of Ryan… *sigh* but Ryan and I had fun with the aunties watching movies.

Sunday

Busy busy busy, up bright and early. Feed, bath and make sure Ryan take his nap before finishing house chores. My parents and I brought Nurul to Empire for lunch at the Loaf. We went to Toys R Us to get Ryan his Elmo but it wasn’t there (managed to get him one in Plaza Damas just now. So I’m happy :) )Later we send Nurul back to hostel in UiTM and went home. Went out again to Tesco for groceries, where my mum bought her grandson a table/chair. I was like “mummy, he can’t even sit properly yet” *geram* Took turns taking care of baby with my dad that night as my mum had to go for her “mengaji class” . Once we put him to sleep, more chores waiting and finally went to bed at 12.30pm where I was awoken by Lan who just got back.

Who said being a mum is easy?

Anyway I think I showered Ryan with even more attention than usual this weekend as I felt guilty for spending less time with him as classes already started. By the time I come back from class on Monday and Wednesday night he’s usually asleep. I try not to feel too bad as I know; I’m only doing this for him and our family. But that does not make it less painful *whatever*

Home Sweet Home

We managed to make an appointment with the developer to check for flaws and defects on Thursday. The list of defects and pictures have been sent and approved by the developers and the home improvement work starts today. We’ll have to install grills by the end of this month/August so we need to go grill hunting this week. Vacant possession probably takes place in October and then the real headache will begin. I’m over the moon though. I’m already making decoration plans. We’re taking things slow and I’ve develop a 5 stage renovation/ decoration phase to be spread out for the next 2 years or so for budget purposed.Despite it all I’m so excited… a house for our family. *alhamdullilah* thanks for making our dreams come true…
Out new crib come October *insyallah*

Ryan's Proposed Room ???
The master bedroom :)

That is all the update for today... will blog soon. Take care everyone....

I'm No Supermummy...

I want to do a lot of things at the moment... I want a goodnight sleep... I want to eat normal yummy food... I want to go out and drive around for no reason...I want to dress up and look nice... I want some alone time with hubby....I want to give Ryan all the benefit of breastfeeding without having to breastfeed (haha is that even possible?). I want him to be healthy and happy but not at the expense of me feeling crappy... I'm finding for balance...

I don't want to have to wake up every 2 hours for a 2-3 hours long feeding session... I don't want sore nipples and aching breast... I don't want to feel helpless and angry at myself for not being able to guess what Ryan needs and wants... The stitches still hurt and sometimes it sucks to have to get out of bed...

Am currently alone with Ryan... today is daddy's turn to help Ryan and I..but he needs to run some errands so Ryan and I would need to work it out for a few hours... my family have been taking turns taking leave to take care of me and budak kecik... for that I'm grateful but I still have to do loads of things myself...Am not complaining just venting...

Saya penat, lack of sleep and agak moody... but he's worth it... sangat-sangat... love you Ryan...

Diversion....

I was thinking of blogging about the things I learned last weekend but something happen and now I don't have the mood to blog on POSITIVE things...maybe later....

I'm tired of "kiss ass people". They pay so much attention on irrelevant details which pisses "normal" people so that they can gain the attention of certain individuals... It's tiring especially since they don't bother doing much in the first place...

Giving ideas is not work, plain protesting is not work, nagging is not work

I can sense a headache coming.... +urrghhh+ can't wait for all this to end....

Of this and that....

I'm not in a good mood today. Actually I haven't been in a good mood since last week. God knows why! I'm tired and cranky and easily annoyed.

The weekend was ok. I was 1/2 hour late for my BEL class on Saturday (thanks to the stupid jam) As if being stuck in the jam wasn't bad enough, my fiance' decided that it would be a great time to lecture me on punctuality/responsibility. All I can say is BAD TIMING! I left him at the car, went to class. Thank god lecturers for Masters programme are less strict on time.

Class ended early (yea!) and Lan & I went to JJ to watch the Dark Knight (ini pun lepas merajuk selama 1/2 jam) He wanted to watch HellBoy (I totally put my foot down) Anyway the movie was awesome. OH MY GOD - you can feel the insanity oozing out from Ledger's Joker. Some of the scene was so heart wrenching and mind blowing. The Joker was just plain EVIL. Ledger's portrayal was way better than Jack Nicholson adaptation of the same role. The movie was darker, grittier and just plain awesome. Watch it, people! After the movie, we had out dinner in Shah Alam and I went home quite early. I was quite tired but I can sleep so I end up staying till late at night cleaning my room.

Yesterday didn't do much. I spend practically 1/2 the day watching Desperate Housewives rerun on Astro much to my daddy's dismay. hehehe. After that my dad made my sister and I visit my auntie. I played with Haziq si nakal (hahaha i beat him at a shooting game) while answering question from my auntie regarding the wedding.

Bosan ahh.... Everybody look at my face and start asking about preparations. My extended family don't GET it.I don't want frills, no ruffles,no overly bold/overly dark and boring colours, no over the top productions or too many people that I don't know and don't care for. If it were up to me, I would like a very small wedding, with only 200 guest of close family and friends. The only important thing to me is my dress which I don't mind spending on :p

A very wise lady once told me this "Youngsters now days, spend too much time thinking about the wedding day and does not put too much thought on what happen after the wedding". I take her word at heart. It is true actually, I know people who end up heavily in debt, maxing up their credit cards to pay for their wedding. They forget that AFTER the wedding they will need to pay up for all these expenses and it will eat up on their salary.

I know that there are times, when it is NECESSARY for a person to take up loan to pay for their marriage ceremony, sometimes it can't be helped. The difference is taking a small amount to cover the essential and taking a HUGE sum to pay for an over the top event. If you love someone, shouldn't it be enough to just have that person be with you and not bother so much about "external" influences/factors. It is different if you come from a well to do family. If you have the money, my motto is spend it *haha* but spend it wisely.

Trust me, I totally understand the pressure of keeping up with the people around you, but I have come to a realization that sometimes it is easier on your mental/ economic health not to bother. People would always talk no matter what.

So what if you don't get your Tiffany Ring or your shoe are from Vincci or your make up is from Body Shop. So what? As long as you and your love ones are happy, screw what other people might say. Some people are just happy when other people are depressed. You don't need to go down to their level. If material things are the only thing that can make you happy, than you are in deep trouble :) whatever-ler. Have a productive Monday, everyone....
