Two Years and Counting...
I surprised a lot of people, when I told them that I wanted to get married. Even the people who are close to me (my parents included) was a bit taken aback when I made the announcement that I'm ready to tie the knot. Most expected that I'll wait (wait for what pun I dunno)
I remembered Jessie asking me, how do I know that Lan is "the one". I told her I can't list down the reasons but I just knew (haha my reasons don't sound so convincing kan?)
So after 10 months of preparations, thousands of ringgit, countless energy and efforts, loads of tears & tantrums (mostly on my part) Lan and I was pronounced husband and wife, 2 years ago on the 27/02/2009 and here we are still *alhamdullilah*
My favourite wedding photo from the album is the one below. I think it best described our relationship. SIMPLE but BEAUTIFUL :) I've been in complicated relationship before, where so much effort was taken to make things work, but when it comes down to it, I realize the reason why I love my husband so much is because he makes EVERYTHING so simple even when I choose to make things complicated :p
We started with so little, taking a huge risk by getting married and within these 2 years our relationship have evolved to a point beyond my recognition. I've been blessed with so much and I believe it is partly due to Lan's love, support and motivation.

Croaking I am...
I'm bored and a friend fwd-ed an email entitled "what your birth date says about you" . The descriptions are based on your birthday. I don't know the science involved in coming up with the criteria but like I said I was bored so here goes...
I'm a Bullfrog
You symbolize a very happy-go-lucky approach in life.
Well I do try and keep a positive outlook on life but I won't say that I'm the most cheerful person in town. My mum would call me downright grumpy actually (haha)

Whatever the surroundings may be, grim or cheerful, you remain unaffected.
Again, I can't say this is true because if people around me are sad, of course it will effect me on some level. I may be indifferent but I'm not insensitive.
In fact, you spread cheer wherever you go.
I hope so-ler but I highly doubt it (huhu)
You are the leader of your group of friends and good at consoling people in their times of need.
Well I would say I'm a good listener (when I want to be ;p ) If you don't know me well you would think that I don't care (you're probably right coz I try not to masuk campur other people's business) but my friends know that I'll be there for them if they need me (any time, any day). Anyway BEWARE!! despite the sometimes blur look I usually know more that I let on. Look BLUR think SMART thingy that I have going on...
You dislike hypocrisy and tend to shirk away from hypocrites. They can never be in your good books, no matter what.
Well everybody hates hypocrite unless it is them doing it (huhu)
You are very methodical and organized in your work. No amount of mess, hence, can ever encompass you.
Ok this is true... I hate mess. I don't have OCD and I don't go nuts if my books are not symmetrically aligned but I would prefer if my stuff are in order and not all over the place.
Beware: it is easy for you to fall in love....
Betul ke? I don't think so, I may have crushes on people but I don't fall in LOVE with them easily.
Conclusion : If you actually read through the list you would see that the description is pretty general so it can technically apply to anyone. So take it with a pinch of salt, you are who you are, and I don't really think your birth date/horoscope determine your personality (but hey, that is just me).
However, you can't deny it is fun to try out this things esp. if you're bored :)

Of Sickness and Doodles
I'm down with a flu bug that just won't go away :( My coughing fits get so crazy sometimes, I need to use the Ventolin Inhaler to ease the cough. So no ice water and mandi tengah malam for the time being. I'll do *almost* anything to make this cough go away.
Anyhooo....
I'm introducing Ryan to the Alphabets/Numbers/Objects at the moment. Other than using flash cards, posters, books etc I had this brilliant idea (self praise moments) where I'll draw the objects myself on art blocks or plain paper. Simple yet more engaging and with more personal touch. At the same time drawing = creativity as the child would be able to experiment with colours and textures.
Ryan at 14 months is a bit too young to engaged in proper arts and craft activities so I decided that he should start with "DOODLING" i.e. conteng whatever he wants on a paper (or sometimes his face/hands and clothes). I bought him a book of drawing paper and some non-toxic magic pens.
I have to admit that it was a bit of a mistake as the pens are too slender for Ryan's little finger and though the inks are non-toxic it is not washable thus it is very hard to clean the stains. I was considering crayons but was not able to find anything toddler friendly.
Last week as I was walking through Borders stationary section, I stumbled into the Crayola Beginning Arts series. I found these cute baby stampers which fits in the palm of a baby hand. Best ok!! each set consist of 3 stamps (a cow, a chicken and a horse). Ryan love his stamps though he need some help to stamps the objects properly. The series is intended for toddler above 18 months so older kids would find it easier to manage.
Anyway I found out there's another shop in Curve called Tango Mango that sells an extensive Crayola Beginnings line. I think I would get Ryan the doodle or crayon next. It should be easier to use than the stampers. The best part is that the products are not only non-toxic but also washable *yeay*
Once he's more efficient with his Tadoodles maybe daddy can buy Ryan this XXL Doodle Mat :) *wink2*
That's all for now. I can't wait to go home and start my weekend already. Have a good weekend everyone :)

The L O V E Thing
I don't get the whole fuss about Valentine Day...
After having my so called "first date" with my ex-boyfie on Valentine's Day 9 years ago, I've never wanted to go out ANYWHERE on 14 February anymore. My memory of the so called date is pretty hazy ( or so I have to pretend since husband darling reads this blog hahaha) but what I remembered the most was the traffic, horrible crowd, ridiculously expensive roses and packed restaurant. You can't walk across any mall without bumping into some ridiculously hormone charged teenager.
Coupled with my hatred for packed rooms and crowds, I've stopped celebrating Valentine all together after that. Other than the religious implications of celebrating Vday, as I grow older (and more mature) I just don't see the rationale of honouring one day for LOVE when you can treat every single day as special for your love ones. You don't need Hallmark/Memory Lane/CardDuta (for the cheapskates) the florist, or other commercialized entity that is capitalizing on Valentine's Day to help you show your partner that you cherish and appreciate them.
So ladies dress up in a gorgeous dress for our partners and guys buy your missus flowers and chocolates and celebrate your love on any random day. They deserve it for making you as happy as you are today.
I found this cute cards online, just thought I'll share it with everyone for fun. Have a great Friday & weekend everyone :)

Family Time :)
Thanks to the long break last week, I was itching to go somewhere and not just veg at home for 4 days. Plans to go places outside of Selangor was scraped as I have no intention to face a 4-5 hour of jam with a screaming toddler in the car (I was going for RELAX and not TORTURE :p )
Anyway we decided to got to Morib as it is only an hour away. The place have undergone a huge transformation as compared to how it looked 15 years ago. We arrived at noon so mandi laut was out, so we just decided to have a mini KFC picnic instead

Before and after photos
With mak long and pak long Ryan in his new octo pool :p He had so much fun that he don't want to go out
*******
I had so much fun during the break. I was so sad when it ended, On the downside due to the makan-makan session in Sunway where I had ice cream overload. I am now currently suffering from cough and flu :( Anyway I'm planning on another trip to the zoo (tak puas hati tak jadi pergi last week) or maybe the bird park this week. Hope the weather will cooperate.
The best is yet to come though. I can't wait for our "big trip" next month. I've been wishing and hoping for this particular trip for years and alhamdullilah my wishes came true. Passport is all ready and all that is left to do is prepare pics for our visa :) *excited mode*
p/s: I should post Ryan's passport pic, seriously HILARIOUS :p
