One final update for the year...

Thursday (X-Mas)
- Out with my sister to get a long list of stuff for the wedding (mainly the material for her dress, which I was somehow con to buy).We went to Mydin Subang, Subang Parade, SACC Mall and Plaza Alam Central *phew*. Manage to get 80% of the stuff on the list.

- I was on the hunt for Lan's hantaran gift no 8#, Thank god for the totally nice and helpful "kakak" at the cosmetic counter in Subang Parade.

-Anyway I was seriously pissed off with this "Cik Ponz" (if you get what I mean). You see technically I'm not a difficult customer. I say please and thank you and I try to be courteous to people. I also know what I want, but that does not mean I'm not allowed to ask "questions" and "prices". Maybe you are tired or whatever, but do you have to show your annoyance on your face, tone and body language? Mind you, I was only asking her question for less that 5 minutes. Nasib baik the nice kakak took over, kalau tak serious tak nak pun beli barang kat your counter. *urrghh* technically you are not a "girl" so I don't understand what you are PMS-ing about *roll eyes*

- Anyway I went to picked Lan up when we're in Shah Alam and I managed to get my jewellery for my hantaran :) Love it love it love it...

Friday
- Manage to finalize our forms :) We got our marriage approval from Pejabat Agama Islam Daerah Klang.

- Now that everything is CONFIRMED. I shall make this announcement :- My wedding date (nikah) would be on 27 February 2009 and the date of my reception is on the next day 28 February 2009 (Saturday) I will reconfirmed the venue with you guys. Only close friends and family would be invited to the Nikah ceremony and I would try my best to invite all my friends for the reception :)

- Maybe some people are pissed at me for not announcing my wedding date earlier but what they fail to see is the reason behind it. They just keep pushing and pushing pastu konon merajuk. I have to wait for my parents to confirm the dates and for the approval from PAID. I don't see the point of kecoh satu kampung on the tentative date but tak jadi. I will only do something when I'm ready, personal space is something some people need to RESPECT.

Saturday

- Went to Nilai for my cousin's engagement. It was nice and simple, food was good - ada kambing golek :) Anyway Angah made me carry his hantaran cake. Serious berat nak mati and I was scared to death that I will drop it (It's common knowledge that I'm not the most graceful person around :p) but mission accomplished :)

- Along Az offered to sponsor the hantaran cake for Lan *yea!!* he told me to email him a picture and he will order it for me *save duit saya*

- Went to Nilai 3 with my family. My mum bought bunga pahar to exchange with Lan, goody bag and some artificial flower. My room is starting to look like kedai bunga with all the stuff bersepah2 ;p

- That night we went to Sungai Buloh - Alia's house. Pak Cek is back from Mekah so all of us got together to welcome him back *alhamdullilah* Everything went well. They bought me this really pretty black rhinestone selendang.

- While waiting Titanic was on HBO. It is so irritating to watch the movie with my cousins sometimes. They were like "Na, what happen next?" "why? how? when". Is it a wonder why I refused to bring them out for movies? hahaha..

- The movie bring back memories :) Not necessary good but still.. hahaha.. malas nak elaborate..

Sunday

- Hmmm... was supposed to go out with Lan but I ended up spending the whole day reading Book 3 & 4 of the Twilight Saga. Dah habis baca dah and I am even more in love with Edward Cullen at the moment *sigh*

Monday

- Lan parents came over yesterday to discuss our wedding arrangements etc. My sister cooked (heheh she is a way better cook than me. That I have to admit) and I cleaned. I think it went well...

- Lan stayed over for a while. My mum was going on and on (as always) about god knows what. Hehehe anyway she told Lan to "control" my "shoe and handbag shopping". That traitor was of course nodding and agreeing. Hahaha

- We went to the movies to watch "The Spirit" Hmmmm the movie is "interesting" but not necessary a good thing. Very "Sin City" :p Eva Mendes is a major hotness though. Worth watching the movie just to watch her (I sound like a dude)

Today

- I'm back at work and would be on leave for the rest of the week. Will be back at work next week Monday...

- I can't tag for some reason. So sorry for not replying you messages on the tag board.

- Classes are starting this week and I will be occupied every Tuesday and Thursday till June. I am contemplating on taking extra paper this semester but am not sure if it is a wise choice, with the wedding and all *sigh*

- Anyway wanna wish everybody a very HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let's all aim to be a better person next year.

- Muacks.. love ya!

Getting Acknowledge...

I've received my appraisal and bonus statement *alhamdullilah* It was way better than I expected. Can go shopping *yeah*

Note to self 1: Work harder next year to further improve knowledge and skills :)

I'm seriously trying not to lose my temper. I don't understand why some people like to make themselves more important than they actually are. They will only "get jokes" if the joke is not on them. They think that they deserve first class access to the happenings in my life eventhough they haven't been a friend for a very long time.

These are the people that tell themselves that they have been a good friend to me , think they deserve special treatment etc. Some of these people don't even call me unless they needed things from me, speak badly BEHIND my BACK, and have repeatedly hurt my feelings ( intentionally on the facade of being HONEST) and deliberately attack my self confidence.

It's not my style to confront you or curse the shit out of you. I can't control the things that you do and to tell you the truth I don't care because your negativity is your problem. I'm happy where I am at the moment and its mainly due to the honest, loving and supportive people around me. If you are not happy don't take it on other people

Note to self 2: Stay away from all the negative energy and pay attention to people that matter

I can't concentrate coz I'm thinking of ways to spend my money. I think I deserve the new Marc for Marc Jacob bag. Just one and maybe a pair of Jimmy Choo's.... heheheh dah mula-lah tu

Note to self 3: Save HALF of my Bonus for rainy days :) The economy is going to be a lot worst next year so better not go overboard. God please save me from myself...

Holiday Mood!!!

My Genie in a Bottle look of the day :)

I have a very bad headache at the moment...
I'm trying to finish several end of the year project but my head is seriously killing me... Anyway am really irritated that "pay" is still not in yet *sigh* I'm kinda broke at the moment, with all the x-mas, annual dinner and wedding shopping....

I haven't uploaded the weekend picture. I will do it tomorrow or when I have the time :) The weekend was fun. We had our Annual Dinner 2009 on Friday @ Mandarin Oriental, it was so much fun hanging out with the Blue team ( a bit stress though due to some "management" issues) but it was ok in the end. Lan and I won the "table lucky draw" We managed to get a RM40 Chilli's voucher, so you know where we would be having our "weekend lunch" on Saturday :) I slept over at Reebok's house Friday night...
Saturday was fun. Pagi2 Reebok temankan pergi makan Nasi Lemak Gembira @ Section 3. I've been "mengidam-ing" this nasi lemak for the past 1 month, but ada ada aje, tak jadi makan.

After that I went out with Reebok, Iena and Lan to Pavillion. Best shopping :) I got a new Charles & Keith Bow Shoes, 2 Tops from Forever 21, Mac Loose Powder and a set of brushes from Elianto. We melantak makan first at Subway's pastu at Pepper Lunch. I can't find The Loaf *sad*

A few people commented that I lose weight *wee* I think it's becoz I've been going for dance practices, 2 hours per day for the past 3 weeks,It have been fun, I think I will continue my workout regime in the hopes that I will lose more weight for the wedding... Tapi like how Lan like to tease me, "lepas orang puji jer, you will eat, so people will puji you 3 bulan sekali jer..." hehehe
Quite true actually... am going to a "Secret Santee" dinner with the gals later @ BSC....*urgghhh* stop asking me out to lunch/dinner people... let's just go out for a walk in the park instead *like real* hahahahah

Reflection

Hmmm 2008 is ending, so I guess it's time to stock take...

2008 is a good year, as far as a year go. It has its up and down but I will say it has more ups than down.... So here is the TOP 5

1. ATTENDING THE BACKSTREET BOYS CONCERT
I know this is lame-lah, but after all these years being a fan, getting to see them live and in person is a dream come true *sigh*

2. GETTING ENGAGED TO MUHAMMAD AZLAN AB MALEK
I'm finally moving on to the next stage in my life. 2 1/2 more months and I'm getting married *insyallah*

3. CLOSING CHAPTERS
Let just say it was a total relief to finally be able to cut all string loose. Some things are better left as it is. Less said about this the better :)

4. CLIMBING LADDERS???
I've been absorbed as a permanent staff in my department and I am now a Senior Executive *cool*

5. GOING BACK TO SCHOOL
I started my Masters in Law, and I've just got my results. Guess who just found out that she's on the dean's list??? Heheheh I got 2 A's and 1 A-, with a CGPA of 3.87. Hahahah I know I'm so poyo for posting my results, but am just so ecstatic. Alhamdullilah!!!!

Of course there are other happenings, but not as eventful or to private for blog *huhuhu* So hope I can improve and become an even better person next year *insyaallah*

I'm farking pissed out of my mind at Muhammad Azlan Ab Malek at the moment (I'm calling him by his full name, he should know that he is in BIG trouble *urrghh* He played a joke on me, yg serious tak acceptable, rasa nak sepak pijak, bunuh cincang pastu feed to the crocodile kat sungai Klang...bersambung later....

Be Still My Heart...

Saya cintakan Edward Cullen...

I can't wait to get my hands on the books. I've watched the movie. Itz so-so but the lead actor, is so handsome. I love brooding moody boys... hehehe

I dragged Lan to several MPH and Popular bookstore last week, but the book is sold out (saya sakit hati) Actually some of the books is there, but since I want the book set (consisting of all four books) I have to wait. I'm so getting my hands on it along with JK Rowling " The Tale of Beedle and Bard"

Anyway let's review the books I've read on the month of November :

Children of Hurin : Tolkien
Hmmm... not exactly my fave book of all the Tolkien Middle Earth series (the book was edited by Christopher Tolkien (his son)) the storyline is too depressing and moody, with the psychosis, bipolarness, incest (got your attention yet?) Itz just way too serious for me. The suckiest part is everyone dies in the end (oopps spoiler) The book just can't compete with the brilliance of Lord of the Ring but it's not a bad read...

The Chronicles of Narnia : C.S Lewis
I managed to get the whole set (7 books) for RM15. Despite all the hype after the release of the movie, I just can't get myself psyched up over the book. Technically, I don't find the book to be the "easy reading" type despite being a children book. It's very heavy on "maksud2 tersirat". Maybe I just think too much, but the book is fine. I won't say it's brilliant as compared to the LOTR trilogy or Harper Lee "To Kill a Mockingbird" (fine I'm obsessed with the book, so what?) but it's OK!!

Thanks for the Memories : Cecilia Ahern
I find the story funny and sad at the same time. It's quite good. Easy reading but then again Cecilia Ahern books usually produce the "happy feeling juices" as long as you are not finding for a deep and meaningful literary Nobel Prize winning work :) this is just the book for you...

Something Wonderful: Judith McNaughtMy guilty pleasure... hehehhe... I usually am not into "romance" because its rubbish (i can't stand the way they usually potray women, no matter how independent, smart and beautiful they are, mesti ada satu mamat nie yang will make all "maids hates their virginity and nuns forget the vows"....whatever major lameness) but I like Judith McNaught books, I've read a few : "Kingdoms of Dreams" and "Perfect" (hahahha ni buku fave. Yen) This book is a fun read if you don't feel like thinking...

Chasing Harry Winston:Lauren WeisbergerOf all the 3 books. I only find "The Devil Wears Prada" good. I find this book and her second novel " Everyone Worth Knowing" predictable and boring. It lacks creativity and it seems to me that she keep on churning the same scenario and ideas over and over again in different situations... Was seriously skipping pages when I read this...

11 books in a month, not bad, huh? I'm so instilling this habit to my kids, something my soon to be hubby totally lack. It's ok, he can teach them all about sports :p Have a great day everyone..

Read a book, kill a gremlin!!!

Long weekend ahead....

I can't wait... going to have a looonnggg weekend due to the Raya Haji Holidays...

The 2 days break was "awesome" minus one "geram" incident. Anyway went to Pavillion on Wednesday and I went totally nuts getting stuff.

I got 2 new shoes and several tops, leggings and a new sunglasses. They were having this promotion in Nine West and Stage (they sell cool Betsey Johnson/Anne Klein/Steve Madden etc) Buy 1 item (10%), 2 item (20%) so on... So I managed to get some stuff for the hantaran, at a reasonable price.

I went into the Stuart Weitzman store, put on a very "kerek" face. The shoes are GORGEOUS, but there is no way Lan in going to allow me to get any of it, even if I use my money :( Takpelah save for other stuff.Like boring house furniture *sobsob*

Yesterday went to pick up my wedding dress for Lan's reception. I love it :) Got the whole suit + tudung/veil etc. I just need to get a matching shoes and some accessories... Took loads of pic, but I can't seem to find my usb cable, so will post more and upload pics once I found it :)

Forgot what I wanted to say...

I got into trouble yesterday with Lan yesterday for buying the new A.H bag.

He didn't say much actually, but he did give me "that" look (you know the look that said "must we have THIS conversation again..)

Lan: Aren't you supposed to be getting new shoes?
Me: (dalam hati: hmmm... he's reminding me to buy shoes? sihat ke laki aku nie? heheh)
Shoes? what shoes?
Lan: Kasut yang you cakap, dah tak boleh pakai lah.. koyak lah... dah beli beg nie, pakai lah dengan kasut koyak you tu. You dah overspend this month gaji kan?
Me: (seperti biasa have to be cheeky) takpe, beg is only arriving end of the month, by that time dah ada kot new shoes to go with the new bag. Jom pegi makan TGIF ( cubaan memujuk)
Lan: Tak payah nak pujuk I with food (shucks: trick lama dah tak boleh pakai..hehe)

Anyway... what is done is done right? In my defence, I've been really good for the past 2 months, not buying unnecessary things. So I think I deserve a little treat for myself :)

I can't wait for tomorrow. Lan and I would be on leave and we're supposed to go scouting for my hantaran shoes and Lan's phone. I think I want to drag Lan to Pavillion. Tengok lah his mood :)

My jubah for annual dinner, is ready and I think it's awesome :) I decided to be all creative and stick diamante to the otherwise plain jubah. The result is great and I save close to RM100 for doing the beading myself. Anybody know where I can get ballet slippers? I'm planning on a DIY project for myself..hehehe

Ohhh... Last month, a salesperson in Diamond and Platinum gave me this idea, and it's stuck in my head. "CHARM BRACELETS". She was saying that instead of getting the normal bracelets or bangle, I may want to try something different.

She suggested getting a wide link white gold bracelet and getting pendant as charms. I totally LOVE her idea and I'm currently in search of the perfect (but cheap haha) bracelet. And as future BDAY/ANNIVERSARY present my hubby can add on to the charms on a yearly basis (start from one and will grow to ???) HINT HINT!! heheh

For a cheaper option, you can try the Thomas Sabo Charm Collection (http://www.thomassabo.com/) Price starts from RM39-RM449 (per charm/bracelet/pendant)

Baggie Gallore :)

There is this Malay custom, when the younger sister plans to get married before the older sister, the younger sister would need to give a token to the sister. Usually it's a simple gold band and "kain", if the sister is crazy and unreasonable they will ask weird stuff like a Plasma TV or a Car etc.

My sister is crazy but she is not unreasonable (hehehe) Anyway I think both of us have so much "kain" which have not been made into dresses that I don't see the point of getting her more. So I was browsing the internet and found the Anya Hindmarch X-Mas design for Target. I saw this really cool looking mock croc clutch at a reasonable price (*sigh* I still find it quite pricey but should be fine as long as I can "curi" it from her later..heheh) so I'm getting it for her along with a gold band

As I was planning to order, I accidentally pressed the WRONG button, lo and behold it brought me to another page and now I ended up buying a bag for myself too. Hahahha it'z just too cute to pass. My rationale is, I can barely afford the real thing and since I'm not a SNOB like some people (heheh) I'll settle with the unfake but non-designer version. Damn it, I deserve my Anya!! hahaha

Photobucket
It's classy but hip at the same time :) Me lurve it.. The review is kinda mixed, but I don't care, I love the design....

Photobucket
For my sis... more boring BLACK clutch... hehehehhe

------------------------------------------
Weekend was so-so. I went for my wedding dress fitting and I'm in LOVE. The dresses is simple but elegant. Me like it. The veil is not ready yet, but I will probably be able to pick up all my dresses by this week :) yeah! I can start my accessories shopping...

Just Saying....

If you have been given a task to finish 1 month ago and you can't make the deadline. What should you do? own up or cook up a story so unbelievable that no one believe anyway. Would you complain if people are unhappy? Just saying...

If you were told to do do something last night to be ready first thing in the morning, but you still choose to come late and things is not as smooth as you want it to be. Do you think it's really wise to complain to the person who end up cleaning your mess? Just saying....

If you are more interested in your vanity than actually doing the job and people don't take you seriously, should you complain? Just saying...

If you choose to live in your own sick and twisted world, where everything is all flowers and butterflies and FAILED to take into account the REALITY of the situation, when things start failing and the people who warned you in the first place, said "I told you so". Is the person being cynical, sarcastic or pessimist in the first place or practical? Just saying...

If you desperately want people to like you, but you keep on giving ammunition (doing stupid uncalculated actions) to this so called "bad bad people" are they mean? or are you stupid. Just saying...

We keep on complaining about how others love finding faults in us, but we tend to forget that sometimes we're the cause of our own misery. Stop being so naive and "innocent". Life is unfair, deal with it, no point in ranting and complaining about other people's action when you fail to regulate your own behaviour. Just saying...

Pissed? Take a DEEP breathe....

I have loads of things to blog about but I can't find the time to do so. I'm swimming in the sea of projects at the moment, and let just say that it's challenging due to the human factors.

10 minutes ago, I was so pissed that if there was someone standing in front of me, I would probably smack their heads for no apparent reasons. I managed to calm down a bit and think it through. I've done my part and I've done it excellently, if other people don't care about the quality of their work it's THEIR problem not mine.

I'm just going to pray to Allah that everything would go on fine *insyaalah* Complaining attracts bad karma, and I do not want any bad vibes surrounding me, and stressing caused ACNE....

So THINK happy thoughts, Far :)

6 Months: Engaged to be Married
Last Monday (24/11/2008) dates 6 months of me getting engaged to Lan. We agreed that we do not want to do the normal "dinner dates and prezzie". I gave Lan and myself a RM5 max limit for gifts, and he did something really sweet, something so not Lan-like (hehehe) [ He put together some stuff he collected around the house] and I printed him a "world best boyfie" certificate from online (no fiance'lah) and we had our dinner at Seksyen2, Shah Alam. I know it's so biasa but I seriously think it's one of the best dates we had in months :)

Good Karma : Law of Attraction
I did several unselfish things yesterday and believe it or not I actually made close to RM200 because of it (betul tak tipu). So this totally motivates the current "thou shall not bitch"state of mind :)

Santa is cominggggg......
I managed to do some XMas shopping for my friends yesterday, am so happy with my finds :) Hope they like it!!! Anyway I wanted to get some kain for the wedding (for sis and fave cousin (saya favouritism)) so Lan accompanied me to Subang to get it, I managed to get some, I love it so much ada terasa nak take it for myself, tapi nanti BURUK SIKU... hahahah planning to go to KL next month to continue my "kain search"

See??? It worked, everything is fine and I shall not worry... It's 6.22pm. I think I'll just make my final checks and head home... see ya amiga...

Of Giving and Taking....

As we are all aware X-Mas is a month away. However, we can already see decorations, tinsels and bells hanging in malls. Usually when you think of X-Mas the first thing that will come to mind is PRESENTS

My friends and I have this little tradition of exchanging gift during XMas. Now the tradition have also spill over to the office, where we play the little "Secret Santa Game". We'll pick ballot with another person name, and get them gifts within an agreed budget. In this case its RM35.

It's very difficult to get something that people may want and like. I have given up and resorted to asking people to tell me what they want, I would even prefer if you can give me a picture to go along with the description. I'm not saying that you will 100% received the item, at least I can work on getting something similar to it :)

A friend disagree with my method saying that it seems tacky to get presents that way. But my argument is simple, I don't see the point of getting someone things that they may not use (ever!) There are times, more often than not that I received things that are either not my style, colour or even size. I'll accept it with a smile and stash it somewhere and forget all about it until my next Spring Cleaning.

I'm not being a SNOB, I appreciate people's gesture, but sometimes I feel some people tend to pick present according to their own preference instead of others.

I'm guilty of that too. Like if I buy stuff for Lan, I'll pick things that I like him to wear instead of what he likes wearing, or if I shop for a friend of mine who love every shade of black, brown and navy, to which I find extremely dull and end up getting her something bright instead (which I doubt she wears anyway). Horrible habit, but I'm trying to change this :)

Anyway tomorrow is my sisters Bday. She wants a clutch, a boring black one (Don't get why esp. since she has a gazillion black bags). But keeping with my latest motto I will get her what she wants no matter what my reservations are :) Saw a bunch of pretty ones in One Utama just now, but I think I'll be getting the one below from Miss Selfridges.

Photobucket
It's within my budget and its BLACK with thin gold strap. It reminded me of my Guess Hepburn Clutch actually. Maybe a thinner version ;p

Photobucket
I love this Marc Jacob Rosebuds Ballerina Slippers *sigh* Anybody know where I can get something similar (satin preferably) in Cream/White. Anything below RM100 would be great... heheheh (Kalu RM10 lagi bagus..haha)

Lonely Boy/Girl...

Quoting my Political Science Lecturer Prof. Munis Paran "Men are social animals" thus we need interaction in order to lead a healthy life. However, are you so dependent on "human interaction" that you can't function without being surrounded by other people?

You see, I LOVE GOING OUT ALONE. Guys (esp) don't believe it. Everytime I made this proclamation, it will be accepted with a smirk or a "yeah right". I have nothing against hanging out "beramai-ramai" but sometimes a girl just got to be ALONE.

For example the time that I really treasure everyday is the drive to and back from work. It is the best time to unwind and think. No endless BORING chatter, no people nagging, just loadsa music and the open road. Or the "ME TIME" during lunch time, where you are able to spend SHOPPING for the new dress you wanted without people tagging around urging you to hurry up or offering unwanted opinion.

I remembered a few month back, when I needed to find a black top for a party. A bunch of friends was going to lunch together and ask me to join.

I declined giving the above excuse. Here is a recollection of the conversation:-

C: Nevermindlah we come with you. Can go shopping together
Me: Nope, It's ok, I'm skipping lunch so that I'll have more time to look around
C: Why not go later? You wouldn't want to spend lunch time alone wondering in a Mall
Me: Why not?
C: I dunno, don't you want people around?
*I just smiled*Maybe I just need more CHILL ME time than other people :)
I've experimented the following activity just for the fun of it:
  1. Walking around a mall endlessly shopping alone (biasa jer, ramai girls do that)
  2. Eating meals alone in a proper restaurant (Did this a few times, kind of ackward but bearable esp. if you have a book or a magazine with you)
  3. Watch a movie alone ( hehe I did this once, it definately feel weird but wasn't so bad after the innitial KR reaction from the ticket guy yang jerit kuat-kuat "cik adik nak tengok wayang sorang2. Takde boyfriend ke?" - Sangatlah malu but the movie was good, what the hell)

If there is one way to build self confidence, is this, walk alone and see if you can face people perception of being a "lonely friendless person". Tell yourself this, " I have friends I just don't need them ALL the time :) "

LATEST OBSESSION

Honeymoon dress - Saya ada perangai menyampah baru. I'm obsessed with finding "new dresses" for my honeymoon. Lan was like " I think you have ENOUGH non-honeymoon baju that you haven't even worn yet" but I can't help it. I think I'm just finding a reason to shop.

I'm asking a friend to help me get this top from http://www.asos.com/ . Everythis is on X-Mas sale so you can get summer dress for 30%-70% discount.

Photobucket
Love this coz I can double it by wearing it with legging or skinny jean for a more "sahsiah look"

Photobucket
Tutu Skirt with flower adornments. This is 60's vintage from http://www.persephone.com/ Can't afford it but I think this look is adorable. Maybe I'll just get a tutu and stick some flowers to it :)

Photobucket
Ruffle Blouse. The top is Blair inspired :) Blair wore it to her Bday party, but I doubt the top from the Bill Blass collection will work on me. Due to the lack of assets (hehe) The blue version is a bit more "covered" but it still scream CLASS. Can't afford this either but just putting it here coz I think it's cute (haha)

Photobucket

This 80's vintage white/silver pumps is to die for, Function as a perfect wedding shoe :) It's affordable lah, around RM300 after delivery etc. Tetapi only available in size 5 and the sole is leather (which I suspected to be made with oink oink skin, a common thing with imported shoes) so why bother right?

Wanna get back to work... adios people...

Ring O Ring

I'm currently trying to decide on a wedding ring for Lan.

I'm confused on the right type of "metal" that guys are allowed to wear. There is this big argument going on whether guys can wear platinum, white gold or suasa. So I did a little research on the matter.

Gold (as in yellow ones are out). There are some argument that white gold are not actually gold (mainly due to its colour) thus it is allowed for men:

White Golds: What are they? What are ‘white golds’? Are they a special form of gold? Do they contain gold? These are typical questions often asked of us. Well, they are not a special form of gold (which is why you cannot get 24 carat white gold). Actually, they are true carat golds, just like yellow or red carat gold jewellery. They are gold alloys that look white rather than yellow. The white colour is achieved by careful choice of the alloying metals, which bleach the deep yellow of pure gold.
( Refer to : http://www.gold.org/jewellery/technology/colours/white.html)

Based on the definition, forms and contents many Islamic scholar dictates that white gold does fall under the "gold family" thus making it HARAM for men.The same goes to SUASA based on its content which is a mixture of gold and bronze.

So that leave us with platinum which is allowed for men, as it does not share the same chemical content as gold. The best based on sunnah Rasulluallah S.A.W is of course silver.

This issue is kinda "controversial" as I do see some of my male colleague sporting white gold wedding rings. Their argument is, its okey to wear it as long as you don't wear it during solat. I malas lah want to argue, but based on sunnah, Muslim men are not allowed to wear silk and gold at all time, but it's your call.

Anyway do you know there is actually a scientific reason as to why men are not allowed to wear gold, for some reason they create some sort of negative chemical imbalance to their body as opposed to women. There is a group of scientist out there trying to approve and disapprove the rationale behind some Islamic teaching, it's kinda cool, like why you are not supposed to eat pork, reason why you should samaq' after touching dogs etc

Yeah I know this post is kinda serious as opposed to my normal bimbo-ish antics.. but just serving it as a part of reminder to myself and others...

So the moral of the story is Lan would be getting a Rm0.20 cincin tikam from kedai depan...hehehhe

Hope or no Hope???

My weekend was pretty much productive or so I claim...heheheh

Managed to get most stuff on my "to-buy" list. Dragged Lan to Sunway on Friday night and went to Curve (again) on Saturday to pick up my new moisturiser and VS toiletries for my hantaran from Ice. Am happy with the stuff but would need to repack/redecorate the stuff properly, but I'm LAZY (hehe)

I tried my new Hope-In- A- Jar. I got it because it was on Sephora's must have item, and out of 25 reviews 19 was good. To say that I've seen extraordinary result would be exaggerating. I've only been using it for less than 3 days anyway, so we will wait and see. The SKII is working fine, the most noticeable result is my face in not overly oily by noon... I will only judge the succesfulness of the product after a month :)

Anyway, Lan and I have started on our HOME MAKEOVER project :) We're planning to paint the flat, restore some of the furniture and buy some new appliances (huhu Mummy is giving us the new Panasonic Electric Oven she won in a Lucky Draw, carpets and some china and pots :p) We haven't decided on a colour yet, but I'm leaning towards light summery yellow and baby pink with flower separator wallpaper in the middle for the living room, pink for my room and yellow for "our" room (in order to save money and paint) brownish creme for the kitchen & toilet. Maybe we can also paint the door and windowsill dark "woody" brown.

Lan is bugging me to start cleaning my stuff so that I can start moving things in stages (hahah he don't want to admit it but I bet he is more excited for me to move in than I'm actually am) So Spring Clean Part4 2008 - here I come. I'm either giving away some old clothes/bags/shoes or probably just toss it away if no one wants it. Someone suggested that I sell the pre-used stuff online, but I malas want to maintain another blog, I'm having problem updating this blog as it is... heheheh... but we shall see... never say never...

Work is oKey, nothing great happening at the moment. I was cornered into helping with the Inter House Performance for Annual Dinner. Should be fun, but I was actually planning on skipping in this year. The theme is Middle Eastern, so you'll either come as a belly dancer (scrap that coz I don't want to subject people to the torture of looking at my tummy) or you can wear a jubah.

So wanting to actually get something that I can actually wear more than once, I decided to make my own Jubah, I bought this really pretty emerald green silk material last Saturday and send it to my tailor, am planning to sew the rhinestones to the square-shaped neckline of my jubah (which I help design) on my own (heheh) Oh, just my luck that when I went to see the makcik, my reception dress for Lan's house is ready.

It turn out to be really sweet and simple, but some alteration need to be done as it was a tad too big (I think I lost weight..hehe) and we still need to wait for my veil to be finished, fingers cross it should be ready at the end of this month, and I can start shopping for accessories (yeah!)

Hmmm.. I wonder what is the status of my other two dresses that was sent to another wedding boutique ;p

I hate Mondays, can't wait for the holidays....

Cream Puff & Hazelnut Chocolate

I'm so relieved it's Friday...

Excited because we're going to continue our shopping expedition tomorrow *yeah* I'm planning to go looking for Lan's stuff first and pay attention to my things next month... We're not planning to get everything at the same time, as long as everything is within the budget I'm happy.

Am proud to say that due to careful budgeting and skimping ( I admit more on Lan's side than mine..heheh), we're able to get some real cool stuff "credit free" (I'm sure a lot of people may not think so, but who cares right??) So as long as I don't have to "berhutang" to get what I want I'm thankful *alhamdullilah*

Anyway Izzah and I accidently bumped into the Metrojaya Warehouse sale in Mid Valley. We went in and my head was spinning due to the huge number of people walking around. The sales is quite good though. Nine West, Betseyville Bag, Steve Madden, JLO , Guess?, Jessica Simpson etc. I'm considering of going again tomorrow but my comforter search is much more important *hehehe*

Anyway if you guys are free you should go and check the sale out.... I got Lan a Polo Belt for RM40 since he have been looking for a brown belt for months but didn't get anything for myself surprisingly...

*yeah* My Hope in a Jar moisturiser(Philosophy) have arrived along with my Victoria Secret toiletries... so-so excited am planning to pick it up tomorrow!!

I have more stuff to update but I don't feel like typing, maybe next week... Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Shopping Junkie!

I'm feeling restless...

I'm finally free but I don't know what to do. When my mind is unoccupied it will turn to the one thing it do best :) "S H O P P I N G". So now I'm feeling the "itch". You know the itch on your finger where you feel the need to buy everything on sight :)
I want to buy something but I don't know what to buy *hahaha* Anyway I don't think it's wise to be making any impulse shopping at the moment because I should be saving for my "wedding stuff"

Went to Subang Parade yesterday to check out some bedding stuff. The XMAS sale is on, so you can get some real nice comforter set at a cheap price. I'm planning on getting something simple but sweet. I see no point in getting those labucci laden comforter that will itch when you sleep. If I'm are planning to spend anything above RM500 for my room deco for the wedding I'm going to make sure that I'll be able to use it more than once.

Anyway everytime I'm in the S.P cosmetic level, I'll drag Lan in front of the SKII counter to look at the stuff. I've been planning on getting their Miracle Water for ages, but a bit reluctant because I'm not sure if it will work on me, and mind you their stuff is very pricey. So I am usually content at gazing at it for a few seconds before moving on. They were having some sort of XMas promotion yesterday, and you can get the beginners set at a reasonable price, but "pokai me" can merely dream...

However, miracles do happen, my boyfie actually volunteered to get it for me. I can't believe what I'm hearing, tapi sempat tu perli "teruk sangat ke muka I sampai you sanggup offer beli for me". He was like "nak ke tak nak?"So never to tempt fate, we walk back to the counter and make my purchase. *wee* and the best part I can use it now and not use it as a part of my hantaran whatsoever... heheheh I think he is sick and tired with me making puppy dog eyes evertime I pass the counter *muka pathetic* :)

I hope I can see some obvious effect. Anyway during the "consultation" the salesperson took a good look at me and asked whether I've been getting enough sleep everyday. Naturally the asnwer is NO, esp for the past few weeks with the exams and research deadline going on. So I'm planning to drink more water, cut down on the greasy food (tough luck), be in bed by 1030 (like as if) and eat my vitamins religiously (trying trying)

Hmmm the "itch" is gone for the moment... so lets keep it that way....

I Just DON'T Get It!!!

*Urgghh*

I don't understand why some people choose to be so "RUDE". Though this incident did not happen to me but to a friend, it just piss the **** out of me. I know the CULPRIT a former classmate, who in my opinion is not good looking, not the most intelligent in the class, have no taste in clothes but LOVE to treat people like DIRT!! Rationalizing, maybe he just have very low self confidence, maybe he just have no brains, but I don't get how you expect to be treated PROFESSIONALLY when you fail to act like a professional you claim to be. It's all karma baby, you get what you give and I'm seriously praying to god that you'll get what you deserve (good or bad)
On a happier note, I've submitted my research proposal last night and I'm FREE for the next 2 months *fooh* It's not easy being a part time student but alhamdullilah, I'm still surviving :)

Chicky Weekend

Friday & Saturday

Been waiting for this chance to go out with the girls for so long and my wish came true on Friday, when Reebok, Uda, Najwa, Iena and I managed to spend some time together. We had our dinner at 10.30pm at Tamarind Hills (coz SOMEONE was late getting ready...heheh). The food was so-so but the scenery is beautiful....

My beef fillet was not bad, but Najwa's Cod Fish & Risotto was foul, and the chicken breast with blue cheese was not great either. Our chocolate mud pie (desert) was delightful but the cheese & raspberry souffle' is "interesting" I guess we just don't have the "acquired" taste for French Cuisine :)

After subtly kicked out by the waiters (hahaha sibuk ambik pic-cha) we decided to go karaoke-ing in E-Box (?? I think) till around 2.30pm. We had so much fun, YDPA naik "sheikh" and siap menari on the kerusi, pastu kena marah with the waiter (ahah) We were screaming on the top of our lungs and singing (out of key most of the time) to our heart content.

Najwa decided to make some detour after that untuk melihat kaum sejenis but too bad takde (padan muka) we send your dirty-ness home and I drove back coz Reebok mengantuk, Kitaorng singgah A& W kejap beli float (yummy) We talk till late in the morning ( I think I slept around 5.55am)

I woke up early considering; woke up at 9am and was ready to go out with Lan by 10.30am, but ended up leaving Reebok's place at 12.30pm. Lan and I went to Curve, had lunch in "Ayam Penyet" and watched James Bond: Quantum of Solace. The movie was action packed (not bad) but I fell asleep halfway through because I was too tired.

After that we went to Metrojaya to look out for "wedding stuff". We managed to get a perfume each for the hantaran (No sale but loads of freebies and cash vouchers) and I bought Lan his hantaran shoes. Next week we're going to scout for his watch if there's time.

Sunday:

Did some housework and went to Shah Alam to see Hanim to discuss on the last minute amendments to our Research Proposal. The dateline is Tuesday but since we have to send it early, we have to work really hard and finish everything by Monday night.

Lalalala

I'm back from my study leave and I'm not functioning well....

I LOVE being a student, going to class, doing assignments, getting good marks (hahah this is subjected to certain subjects only but than again...)waking up at 9pm, sleeping late, watching tv... *sigh*

Anyway exams went well, am not gonna jinxed it and get all cocky so rather not say anything till the results are out...Gotto thanx Lan for keeping me company, nagging and motivating me to study... He sat with me at MCD's for 4 hours on Sunday. If it was me, I'll be whinning after 30 minutes (hahaha).

I need someone to keep me company but not talk to me, which is a pain in the a*** actually... Last Tuesday, a day before my Adv Company Law paper, I was watching TV the whole afternoon instead of studying, all because I was too bored... I'm weird that way...

After my final paper yesterday, Lan and I (he was on leave too... *wee*) went to Subang for some tacos in TGIF and after that went to PAS to confirm my Make Up Artist for the wedding *double wee*, so minus one stuff to think about... Can't wait for my dresses to be ready so I can start accessories shopping (i.e jewellery/shoes)

Can't wait for tomorrow, there's a gathering with my Shah Alam girlies... the only minus point is I have to miss another gathering with the fellow MGS-ian... well there's always next time....

If I say so....

I guess I've been going MIA for the moment. I just have no time to update due to work and also assignments *sigh* My fault for doing work last minute (hehehe)

Anyway, I'm currently working on a cross functional project for another department. To tell you the truth I don't understand why I'm doing the research and updates despite the fact that they have their own lackeys (hahaha) but I'm telling myself that this is going to be good exposure for me, so I'm still going to do my best... *sigh* hope my good deed is rewarded (hahaha serious buat kerja tak ikhlas, kan?)

The weekend was fun. Went to the Zara and MPH warehouse sales on Saturday with Reebok and Lan. I got one white shirt from Massimo Dutti and Lan bought a shoe. The sale was ok but most of the remaining sizes are L-XL too big for me. However, the MPH sales was awesome. I totally went crazy buying books. I bought 7 novels (classis + chic lits) for a total of RM150 only. Murahkan! It was worth it :)We took lodsa cute photo's but it's all in my external harddisk.Too bad, will load it later :)

I was at home doing nothing on Sunday. Bored to death coz my car was in the workshop. Had some problem with the radiator, long story but everything is fine in the end.

Monday, was Deepavali and I was restless and HAD to go out, so I took my dad's car to Juju's open house, went there with Reebok and met up with Jujubes, Tini, Iena, Rinie etc...Was fun, we did what we do best - camwhoring!!! Anyway uploaded some of the pics here.

I'll be on my study/exam break starting from tomorrow (Friday) until 5 of November (Wednesday) So may not be answering my emails (as usual) So if you email and I don't reply tu faham2 and sms-la instead of spamming my email account, lepas tu merajuk I tak balas. I tgh perli someone nie...you know who you are... hahahahahah

Ok, wish me luck... planning to create history next week... hahahah gotto love the confidence if not the cockiness, right?? *ciao*

Betsey Johnson Shopping Galore...

Hey Guys,

My friends and I are planning to order some stuff from Betsey Johnson (Japan) (becoz Betsey USA does not deliver to Malaysia..hahaha). The price is pricier than in US but considering the selling price in Japan and also the delivery from Japan-Malaysia etc, it's still quite affordable.

Anyway I'm taking orders until Tuesday. It will take up to 14-20 days to reach Malaysia and the price is not inclusive of delivery in Malaysia (I can send it over to you if it's convenient). You have to make payment first to my bank account (by Tuesday, and only then will we place the order to our friend). If the model is not available we will refund back your money...

Please order only if you are ok with the above term. Thanks

P/s: If you are interested in any other Betsey Johnson stuff (i.e glasses/watches/tops) you can fwd us a picture and we will try and locate and provide a quotation for you. Keep in mind that the collection in Japan is not as extensive as the one in USA

My shopping wishlist...

I have been quite good lately and I actually kept to my SHOPTOX. I did not make any nonsensical purchases (no tops/dresses/bags/shoes etc from online/malls) Minus one shoe (which was on discount, on my must have list and gorgeous) I did not get anything for myself for the past 24 days. Quite an achievement if you ask me...heheheh

Anyway I'm still putting myself on probation despite getting my salary early this month (due to Deepavali) and I actually save an extra RM 300 (on top of the normal deduction to ASB and Tabung Haji - Despite my crazy spending I actually manage save about 20% of my salary each month, not bad, huh!)

With the wedding less that 4 months away, I think I'll spend my money on more important stuff rather than nonsense... Trying hard to be an adult eventhough most people around me are not... hahahahah

Lan and I got the material for his reception yesterday at Gulatti's and we're going to send his B.Melayu and my reception dress to the tailor today. We're making 3 pairs of B.Melayu for him and 1 dress for moi, so I guess it's safer to do it early. Planning to send it to the Auntie who made my engagement dress. My reception and nikah dress is going to another boutique next week, once I decided on the design (haha tough luck)

Anyway just because I'm not shopping that does not mean I'm not thinking/wishing for new stuff, and I'm planning to get some of this items once I decided that it's within this month budget :)

My New Nine West Shoes. Not recommendable if you're planning to walk (a lot)since it's about 3-4 inch but you'll look great posing ;p

Photobucket
Channel Sunglasses: My black spec for driving broke, so I'm looking for a new one... Hahah I dunno if I can afford this but something similiar would be great...

Photobucket
Christian Louboutin Papilipi Pumps : need I say more? *double sigh*

Black Pumps
Betsey Johnson Mary Janes Peep Toe : I'm a sucker for anything with ribbons..hehehe

GG-T-shirt
Gossip Girl T-shirt. Cute!!

Headband
Jennifer Behr Pink Orchid Headband : Blair wore this during Lily's wedding, I think it's cute

Enough wishes for today. Back to reality... loads work to do.. Have a great day everyone...

Failure is not an option...

Hehehe this is my current tagline..

I have a few friends including myself who is currently furthering their studies in various subjects/courses. The one thing that is on everyone mind is whether or not they will pass their exam...Everytime someone relay the fears to me. I will give them this standard answer... "Failing your paper is not an option, so don't even consider it"

Trust me it worked. The main thing is you have to BELIEVE!!!

Anyway my Viva went well, and my final presentation for this semester was AWESOME. You don't know how ecstatic I was when Dr Rizal told me that he thought I did a great job on my research, I was the ONLY one in the class that he complimented, so it was very hard to stop myself from grinning from ear to ear like an idiot... Alhamdullilah the extra effort paid off... huhuhu

Written submission *here I come* double sigh

Went "beraya" to Lan's parents house on Sunday with my parents. They discussed all the itty-bitty detail on the wedding and the date of the wedding is 100% confirmed *insyaallah* I still do not feel like announcing the details to the public. I guess my closest friends already knew, so that is enough....

Mission Impossible??

Hahahah my manager came to Nina and I for help just now. He wanted this song, but he don't know the name, lyric, singer and he can't even sing us the tune. His clue was-

1. There is a cute guy in a band. Not too old not to young... Got hair (so not Daughtry)
2. The video clip consists of an airplane with "asap" and got love (huh?)
3. He remember this line "I'm going home to my daughter/son/children (double huh?)

So I Google for the lyric, either Gun& Roses or Bonjovi (ehhe??) and tried typing in the description, and he suddenlt remembered the guys sang "Bad Day". I was like Daniel Powter? since when is the guy in a band? So I Google Daniel Powter, Plane, Lyric.

Drumroll... It's actually Daniel Powter- Next Plane Home...

Hahaha interesting research.... totally woke me up from an otherwise boring Tuesday evening :)

When I was supposed to be studying.... *smirk*

I may or may not be a proud owner of one of these...

@ Tony Romas

In my defence, I did finish ONE assignment before I went gallivanting around with Reebok at the Gardens, Mid Valley. We walk around scouting for my "hantaran" stuff. Went in Coach and saw "the bag" heheheheh.... I'm so in love.... for loads of reason I rather not get into now.... Let some things remain a suprise :)

Anyway, my neighbours came over beraya yesterday. For the past 3 weeks I've been getting loads of advices and offer of help from people. The one that I really appreciate mostly come from the older generation

I may not agree with some of the suggestion but some of them have real good points, and they are more willing to lend a helping hand rather than give criticism over each of your choice. When I have to endure stuff that I don't think is helping, I reminded myself over something someone told me.

"do you prefer that no one cares? even if the person offer a string of bad advice, close your eyes swallow it and imagine that they are trying to do some good (even if they don't) it's good karma"

Hehehe whatever lah.... Once my finals are over I'm gonna start going all out on the preparations. I'm suddenly so excited after yesterday... heheheheh
