A Word of Caution

I just remembered something that i HAVE to share with you girls despite the fact that I just blog this afternoon.

Yesterday as I was walking in from the parking lot to Jusco to meet Jo, a middle aged Chinese man suddenly stop in front of me. This is the conversation that went on between the both of us

Man: Hello, how are you? Marissa from *insert some company name here* right?
Me : Sorry no! (trying to walk away)
Man: Ohh you are that girl from *this company* that company*
Me: No..No.. I think you got the wrong person (seriously wanted to go)
Man: But I've met you before, you are not Chinese? you Malay?
Me: No..no..not Chinese, I gotto go (seriously have to sidestep so that I can go away)
Man: (Other people would usually get the hint by now and walk away but he was still standing there) ohhh you don't look Malay and I know I have seen you before.. where ah??
Me: (freaked out by now so I just forced a smile and walk away)
Man: (still rooted at that spot and me being about 3metres away) *shouts* It was nice to meet you, see you soon

By this time I'm already walking away real fast into the complex. Maybe it was really an honest mistake but the man was seriously scary looking... Anyway lets remind myself and all you gals/guys out there to be careful. There is a lot of sickos nowadays :)

Shopaholic Anonymous In Retrospective

I'm in one of my extreme shopping mood. It's really bad actually. I can't seem to stop shopping ;p

Went out with Jo yesterday for dinner, and while waiting because she is LATE, I went in some shop and in 30 minutes time, I was a few $$$ poorer but with a new top and shoe to match. The shoe is a gorgeous yellow/pink/choc peep toe and the silver silk top is Gossip Girl inspired. That night while I was doing my tidying up, I went to put the shoe away next to my hantaran shoe & bag (another newly acquired adorable red pumps from Aldo that is admittedly not very practical for office but I don't care) when I found another shoe box, I suddenly realised that it is my new lilac sandals, that I made Lan got for me on Sunday. *crap* 3 new shoes in a month, and I shall not forget the 3 new tops and the grey pants I got on Monday on the sly without Lan knowing. To top it off I haven't even worn some of my birthday gifts...

I sat there thinking "This is BAD Far, you shouldn't be spending like this, especially on things that I don't need" So I'm putting myself on a 2 week fashion fasting mode, until my Bangkok trip.

I shall save more and will try not go crazy in Bangkok buying things on the whim... I will put 20% aside of my earning (hahah yeah right) and give Lan my 2nd ATM card for safe keeping. THANK GOD I DON't HAVE CREDIT CARD :)

This will have to stop, seriously! If not I won't be able to afford the wedding dress that I wanted and pay for my tuisyen fees...hahaha...I give you guys the permission to nag me if I make unreasonable purchases.

Anyway my application for Masters in Corporate Law is approved. I'm in! but I'm having second thought at the moment because I'm afraid that I can't make the full commitment. I shall dwell on the issue more, give me your opinion on this matter if any :)

I'm kinda hungry at the moment and lunch is still 30 minutes away... I guess all the running around this morning sure burn a lot of calories... Someone told me I lost weight, so I'm going to be perasan about it for the time being...*sigh* I don't understand how some people love work which have loads of human interaction. It drives me crazy, people drive me crazy :) I know it is great exposure and all but dealing with people weird idiosyncrasies are not fun for me...

Yesterday was fun. I went to Lan's and Juju's Convocation and met up with people I haven't seen for a while... After that I hung out with a bunch of them and we followed Juju to the photo shop to take her graduation potrait.

The pictures are in FB & Friendster. I gave Juju the cartoon flowers and got Lan a pair of pants and a shirt. Flower bouquets are boring, anyway it's going to die anyway, so why waste RM60 on totally not practical gift :)

Good Tuesday Morning?

I am so not motivated to work today...

After 2 weeks of non stop reports and running around, I think I have lost some steam... My boss is currently away for a week to attend a programme SC organized. I'm currently acting as the ground person, making sure whatever information that they need would be instantly forwarded to them ASAP. Trust me, it's not exactly the most exciting work around...

I guess this would be the best time for me to catch up with my other projects...I have 2 more months in LDU and then I would be rotating to another department, so I have to make sure that all of my projects are finished before I go... I'm going to be away a lot next month, both for work and holiday... I'll be off to Bangkok on the 3rd week of March.... *yea* I can't wait!

Today I'll be going off a bit earlier, It's Lan Convocation for his Syariah Diploma. Not going to bother to take 1/2 day off... wasn't planning on going anyway but Najwa called and said that she's going to be there to see Juju so I'll go too... I know people are thinking that as a fiance' I should be more supportive and proud... Trust me I am (so much so that I even "help" with his assignments) but this is his 4th convocation, the novelty have totally worn out by now...

Anyway Mummy & Daddy gave us this really cute card congratulating us on the engagement and also Lan's convocation... so sweet... *sigh* I still haven't got Lan and Juju anything, except for this really adorable cartoon flowers... I think I'll grab them some chocs/lolly from Memory Lane during lunch time...

I think I'll go and finish my report now. *sigh*

Engagement Pictures

My Engagement Ceremony 24/05/08

Everyone keep on asking how am I feeling @ the moment... my answer would be, isn't it obvious

"Happy, Ecstatic, Nervous, Scared, Love all rolled into one package..."

Anyway, my Engagement ceremony went well... I was feeling like shit a few days before the event, stressed with the preparations on top of work commitment which unable me to take long leave, to top it all off this humongous pimple appeared on my nose 4 days before the ceremony...

It seriously does not help with totally insensitive people pointing (some even speaking in totally loud voices) "What is that on your nose" "What have you done, you engagement is in 2 days" *roll eyes* Thank god I have some "supportive" friends who offer encouragement rather than useless statements.

Anyway, Friday was real busy with my family cleaning the place, making arrangement, my cousins running around... I had to drive all the way to Damansara to get the cupcakes and the sirih junjung but it was worth it... Totally GORGEOUS!! the cupcakes from Wondermilk is delicious, I got myself a box of the 49 minis for friends and family... it's a real pain having to drive alone with 2 boxes of cakes and a flower bouquet... scary experience. I can imagine my mum's face if I ended up squashing my engagement hantaran :)

Saturday finally arrived and it' so much fun watching other people do work without having to help *heheheh* Najwa and Ley arrived around 10.00am for the make-up and the others arrived around 12.00pm ( Messy, Grace, Reebok, Iena, Juju & Popo) We had fun gossiping while waiting for Lan's family. They were making me sit still, giving me tips to appear ayu * It's like Britney Spears giving parental tips* hahaha

I was kinda cool at first, but totally freaked out before the "ring giving" ceremony... Was feeling kind of lost, don't know how to act, but it turn out ok... I asked my family & Lan later if there is any negative comments but everyone said it's fine... Najwa's fault for talking about protocol... I guess Istana's protocol is different from rakyat biasa *hahahah juz joking Uncle Wa*

Took tons of pictures... all in all it was a great day, despite the fact that Lan was not allowed to come to the ceremony ( I was very disappointed but some battles are not worth fighting..hehehe) Anyway I saw him the next day...so no biggie :p

Thanks to everyone who made my day... Especially my parents who took one week leave to ensure that everything is perfect... They are the greatest parents EVER!! Love them so much :)

Anyway, I can't believe I'm someones fiancee... WOW!
