Weekend Bonanza (Part 1)

Event: Securities Commission 2009 Annual Dinner

Verdict : Awesome

Out of the 3 SC Annual Dinner I've been so far, I think I had the most fun yesterday. Didn't win anything (also another first). Wardrobe planning was a bit of a nightmare, because I can't make up my mind on a suitable outfit. To tell you the truth I have tons of 1950's theme appropriate (but of course non-fit me anymore)

Anyway I had a great time getting ready (fave part of any event). A bit of a boost to confidence exercise :p Can't help it sometimes, esp when you're so huge and all over the place hehehee.. '

I'll blog more a bit later on other stuff. Shall leave you with some pics from A.D. More in FB I supposed :)

Presents anyone???

It’s that time of the year again… present time…

I’m currently actively hunting for birthday, wedding, newborn and xmas presents. As if present hunting is not stressful enough I have to do it within a dateline in mind. 6 more weeks to go to Beanie’s expected due date (give and take I might be 2 weeks early: p)

Sweetstuff volunteered to get my stuff from online US websites and delivering it to me. I already took her on her offer once and ordered some baby stuff and a new Vera Wang Hobo. Initially I wanted to get this stylo mylo diaper bag, but hubby sneered at the picture, so I cancelled the order and choose a bag for me instead (hahaha) Tapi murah je because they were having sales (Hubby is reading this so I better emphasize on the MURAH part)

So now I’m deciding on whether I should order stuff online or go present hunting in flesh (haha) not much time and on a limited budget: p I need to prioritize, I guess. Beanie, I’m so jealous of you, getting all this cool new stuff and making me feel extremely guilty every time I make unnecessary purchases.

It’s a total 180 degree turn from being the one who is always on the receiving end to the one giving.I guess that is one change I have to make. I can imagine the attention you’ll be getting from your atuk & wan. I was told that if you want any indication on how your parent would treat your child, times 2 the attention that they usually give you and your siblings. *hmmm* If that is true, I guess you’ll be receiving A LOT of attention from everyone, everyday and all the time. I can feel you kicking in agreement. Suka lah tu: p

SC 2009 Annual Dinner is this Friday. The theme? 1950's. My dresses are ready for both the dinner and my sister’s engagement. I like the engagement dress better (so flow-y I feel like a princess... hahah) but the dinner dress is ok-ok lah… I guess when you’re 8 months pregnant, you don’t have that much option. I wanted to wear the dress with my killer nude 4inch stiletto, but my leg look so fatso in it, so will have to make do with my 2inch wedges instead. Don’t really feel like going shoe shopping at the moment. Anyway I’m making hubby wear all black and his fedora (he insisted on buying one a few months back for god knows what reasons, so he better put it to good use now)

Anyway this are the shortlisted items of things that interest me. Shall put it in my wishlist, maybe I'll get it for myself if my bonus this year is satisfactory :) or manalah tau hubby is secretly planning to give me a "delivery present". Ingat tak apa ustaz kursus kahwin tu cakap "bila visit wife after labour nanti, don't come empty handed but come bearing gifts i.e. gold, diamonds etc" hahahah hey words from a very wise and religious man, husband out there should really take note :)..

Ideas for gifts???

I love this Victoria Secret gift sets. They usually have cool xmas set. I bought one last year and love it esp. the body mist. It's cheaper than buying it in Malaysia.

I think I'll continue browsing and salivate. Nak kena save duit for next year *alhamdullilah* we're on to some very good news. Will blog more on this once I received a black and white confirmation. Rezeki baby I think :)

Of this and that...

You see.. exams sucks but the good part is you'll get long study break out of it...

The best part is when hubby is around for the first 4 days to accommodate my whims and fancy...

But the excellent part is when you get to go for loads and loads of SHOPPING TRIPS :)

I know that beats the whole purpose of "study leave" but I as long as I'm happy...hahaha

As you can see from above we managed to complete 90% of baby shopping already ( I just need to get the Breast Pump and Bath Tub) We bought Beanie's cot (so adorable,it came with matching bed sheets and all) and his baby seat and stroller. Lan insisted on the Quinny Buzz (*sigh* he COMPLAINT that I spoil Beanie too much, but dia lagi OVER) and we got the matching Maxi Cosy Cabrio car seat/infant carrier. I also got some EDUCATIONAL toys and books for Beebee...

I just feel this HUGE satisfaction, that Lan & I are able to provide Beanie with all the essential & some added luxury. *alhamdullilah* Months of saving, penny pinching, and minimizing on shopping escapades to ensure that Beanie is not deprive of his needs as long as it is within our power and budget :) (The Azlan household policy is not to buy anything you can't afford or need. I adhere to the first but argue on the later as our definition of NEED is contradictory)

Anyway it's been a good week so far becoz

1. Exams went as well as expected (not GREAT but not horrible)
2. I got some extra $$$ coz of some technical mistakes made by Finance earlier :p
3. SPMS evaluation went ok despite some attempt by "makcik" to sabotage me *whatever*
4. Manage to find some time to hang around with some of the chickadees during Fiena's Baby shower...
5. Heard this great news from hubby. If things goes as plan...well... all the better for Lan, Beanie and I :) and my mummy would be ECSTATIC heheh

Lan wants to use the PC... will blog more soon :) muackz

Mummy Creative Baby Project :)

Project 1: Scrapbook Project

Step One: Compile all of baby scan pics ( I think I got 8 so far ;p)

Step Two: Divide pictures by trimesters and arrange it accordingly

Step 3 : Get the Scrapbook Kit ( you can get it in Papier- Curve, MPH-Anywhere, Scrapbook Shop in OU. Price range between RM39.90 to RM400)

Tip: If you are not into scrapbooking but want a place to record baby growth, you can get the ready made (and decorated) baby diary. Just need to paste and jot down baby's development.

Step Four : START DECORATING :)

Will post the result of my handiwork once it's ready. I have to pay attention to much important but less fun task in hand (i.e final assignments). Heheheh love my creative artsy baby time :)

Bored.. it's 10.50pm, just came back from a truly boring Securities Regulation class *sigh* On a self imposed strike coz I wanted something and SOMEONE refuses to let me get my way *double sigh*

On the bright side I finished writing 2 papers on minority shareholder *yawn* and corporate disclosure *double yawn* coz I'm still fuming and that certain SOMEONE still refuses to bend to my whim and fancy (hahaha) I'm going update my blog with a shortie blog.

Will update more on my little sweetheart soon, Things at work are slowing down a bit so I shall have more breather time in 2-3 days :)

My Girly Wirly Time
Mummy to be needs all the pampering that she can get :) So I had my waxing, massage and scrub done during the weekend. My tense/aching muscle are all kneaded and pampered away.

I miss my girly time. Primping before a date, getting my hair and make up done, trying on 12 dresses, not being able to make up my mind and end up wearing the first top I tried on,walking around the room in 4 inch heels for no reason at all... I love locking myself in my room, playing dress up *sigh*

I still take hours to get ready but it's just not fun having hubby making faces in front of me, going "are you ready? dah siap? dah lawa dah? jom lah etc" Those impatient words are so much easier to ignore in phone calls or SMS messages :p Enclosing pictures from those happy times hahaha

I remembered staying up till 2am, doing my hair because I was bored at home :p

Missed Open House

I missed 3 open house invitation this weekend due to family obligation. Sorry sorry sangat but I can't miss the event at home :p Anyway end of next month is going to be very very busy for me. Initially my mum is planning to have a majlis doa selamat for "me" but it's going to be extended to another event in the afternoon. It's not 100% confirmed yet so rather not elaborate :p I'm so excited because I can play party planner and boss people around (I just love getting to dictate theme and colour scheme) and another highlight is getting to tempah baju baru *happiness* going to get the material with hubby later :)

Babymoon and Baby Shower

Nak pergi short holiday with hubby but not allowed to go jauh-jauh :( Since I'm only going to be free starting from 1 November 2009 (after exam) I can only go for my babymoon once I enter 8 month. Genting/Cameron/Bukit Tinggi is totally out. I'm bored of Malacca. Considering Port Dickson but hubby macam not too keen jer. Probally end up booking a hotel in KL haha

Spoke to my cuzzie and we decided against throwing a baby shower for family & friends. I have something else in mind, will confirm if and when I decide to go ahead with the plan.

My biggest problem at the moment is time constraint. I think most of you understand the challenge of baby preparation/work/study/family/friend time.I'm trying to balance everything and not make anything the center of my universe but a part of it. I learn this the hard way a few years back that the only way to make the majority of the people in your life happy is by taking care of your own personal needs first :)

Quick Updates

Updating @ home coz I have no time to blog in the office :p This may be quite a lenghty post..

Mummy/Daddy Update
- I'm entering into my 3rd trimester @ 7 Months (29 weeks) = Managed to gain 3 kg last month :)
- Total pregnancy weight so far whooping 6 kg in 29 weeks
- Feeling great, alhamdullilah it's been an easy ride so far :) Hope the good luck will continue till the end of pregnancy *insyallah*
- Lan and I went for our first pre-natal class last Friday. Good experience and I think we learn a lot from it. 3 more classes to go :) but I think the best take away point is about sharing of responsibilities. No such thing as segregation of daddy/mummy role :)
- We managed to get 70% of the baby stuff. There's a million of stuff to choose from, I can barely make up my mind on the "suitable" types, "right" colour and "appropriate" size etc but the process is so fun esp. since I can combine all my fave activity into one: shopping, spending time with hubby and have fun choosing stuff for baby beanie...
-Anyway I look more preggers now, for the past 2 weeks people have been coming to me exclaiming "OMG you're pregnant??" "7 months? really, can't tell up till this week" etc heheheh

Baby Update
- My lil sweetie is doing good too :)
- Growing at an incredible rate (Beanie now weigh 1kg)
- I know beanie going to grow up into an incredible football player.. with all the kicking and headbutts
- Smart too :) He refused to go to sleep until all his bed time "rituals" are done (i.e mummy to take all her medication, goodnight wishes from both mummy & daddy and all his 5 surah are read to him + his nightly doa :p)
- Love showers, chocolate (esp kit-kat), Ice hazelnut choc from Starbucks, Vanilla and Strawberry Shakes, story books esp (Harry Pot2 and Kisah Dari Al-quran series) and mummy & daddy's voice :p
- How do I know all this? some people may say it's coincidence, well like what the midwife told us in the class... the mummy instinct will kick in and you'll just know :) i.e I can literally feel Beanie kick in approval :)
- We got the perfect name for Beanie (insyallah) It's easy to remember & pronounce, politically correct, good meaning in Arabic, I've even "research" on the "right" spelling to ensure when translated the meaning in Arabic will stay the same ( I think what some people don't realised is when you change the spelling of a name, when translated into the Arabic letters, the name would have a different meaning)
- The Moo Grobag that I wanted to get for Beanie is sold out :( so susah lah nak carik cool moo items *sigh*

Updates in General
- I've answered a question that some people have been asking me for the past 7 months, if you don't get what I mean... too bad so sad, sape suruh blur :p
-Exam are at the end of this month, so when I'm not busy with work I'm busy with assignments :)I'm doing great so far....
- Last Tuesday was Daddy's birthday. We (Lan, Sis, Mummy and I) got him an E75 handphone. Quite pricey (and I want one myself) but for daddy it's worth it :p Anyway my dad is quite tech savvy so takdelah membazir as I know he will learn to operate 80% of the function by Saturday.

Well no more updates for now, at least nothing positive. There's a million of stuff to write if I choose to bitch about "some people" but I rather not dwell on things that don't benefit me. I have so much to be thankful for so why should I care about some minor bumps on the road :p *insignificant being*

I've been really horrible with updating my blog lately. Work been crazy (due to crazy people) ;p and when I'm not playing Sorority Life on FB, I'm doing research to finish my assignments. It's a long tiring cycle..hehehe...

Anyway I had a good Hari Raya celebration. Lan and I celebrated Raya in Malacca with my family and we spend the 2nd and 3rd Raya with Lan's family also in Malacca and Perak. Food was awesome (as usual), Me likey my new baju kurung purchased 3 days before Raya in OU at a whim ;p (walaupun tak se-menyerlah seperti baju raya tahun2 yg lepas due to tummy constraint) and best Raya with hubby for the first time this year (insyallah with Beanie next year)

Highlight Raya:-

1.1st Day of Raya:- Melayan my cousins weird/cute antics

Mukaffar (going to his mum asking) "Mummy what's wrong with Kak Ana's tummy? did she eat too much cheeseburger?"

My aunt :"No lah got baby inside"

Kaffar : "dulu tak buncit pun, how did the baby get in there??"

My aunt: "errrr......"

Playing make-up artist to my 10, 8 and 6 year old cousins. Serious semua perasan cantik. Yanni refused to talk at all from 9am to 11am sebab I put on lip gloss on her lips and she takut "tak kilat, lagi" *sigh* (At least that got her QUIET)

2. 2nd Day of Raya

Panic kejap bila Lan's cousin 80 year old father in law went missing. We stop by @ Lan's uncle house, solat kat Surau, the guys took a nap and some of the women pergila rumah uncle. After solat Lan and I was hanging around the lawn, atuk tu pun lalu. Kitaorang buat tak tahu la. Atuk tu pun keluar gate.10 minutes later Lan's cousin came out the house tanya "mana atuk?" So we were like "dia jalan keluar" Panic semua orang. Rupa2nya atuk tu ada Alzheimer. Terjerit2lah everybody "atuk.. atuk" . Nasib baik Abg Malik and Lan found the atuk @ da bus stop (about 2km jauh from the house) Dia dah nak naik bus dah balik Pahang.

Note: Sekarang fikir rasa lawak but at that time takut juga :p

3. 4t Day Raya in Perak:-

Faris: "Kakak, Kakak nak tengok gigi Faris tak?

Me: Ok (looking at his mount)

Faris:Bukan lah, ni ha dalam pocket (yucks)

2 hours later, a few of the kids went beraya kat rumah pak cik sebelah. They came back and lepas 10 seconds I can see Faris running outside.

Me: Faris nak pergi mana tu? balik nanti ayah marah

Faris: Kejap orang tertinggal gigi kat rumah pak cik *serious I gelak macam orang gila, hearing that*
