Ryan Turns TWO :)
Occasion: Ryan's 2nd Birthday

The celebration was pretty minimal this year but that does not make it any less special :) Mummy loves you very much and you are in my prayers every single second of the day. May you grow up to be a soleh, responsible, loving, intelligent, handsome young man and please be a good brother to your sisters. Ya Allah please bless my son with love, health and happiness always *insyallah*
Currently, I know you may feel a bit "threatened" having to compete for attention with two new babies at once but please be assured that you'll always be my favourite baby boy. You're very special sweetheart that is why Allah choose to give you twin sisters because he knows you have so much love in your heart :) Not everyone is as lucky.
Mummy and daddy sayang you infinity ok Muhammad Ryan Daniel :)

Iman Khadeeja & Ranya Fatimah
Seems like yesterday when my water broke a day earlier than my planned c-section schedule. It was 745am and I just woke up. Unlike most people I wasn't really confused about whether it was urine or amniotic fluid because the fluid wasn't trickling out, it was GUSHING when I stood up from the bed :p I guess double the baby = double the fluid.
I called my mum to tell her, after which Lan and I rushed out in a fury to get my hospital bag (which thankfully was pack the night before) drop by my parents house to hug Ryan (who was devastated he had to stay home) and sped to SDMC, Subang.
I was pretty lucky that it was a public holiday for Selangor so Lan was home, morning traffic was also pretty clear so we managed to arrive at the hospital in 15 minutes. The contractions started every 10 minutes when I was in the car and I managed it via breathing techniques (or whatever I remembered from Ryan's class 2 years ago :p). Since we did our pre-admission earlier, we went straight to the labour ward.
Hehe the nurse looked a bit shocked when I stride in announcing that my water broke and I'm expecting twins. Seperti biasa muka sardine :p There was a flurry of activities after that. When the nurses check at around 9am-ish I was already 6cm dilated (after less than 2 hours) too bad wasn't able to deliver normally or it would have been a very quick labour. Anyway had to go through the labour pain for 2 hours without gas/painkillers etc because I had to wait for the anaesthetists to administer the drug before the procedure.
I was wheeled in the preparatory operation room around 10am. Lan was able to accompany me up till that point only. The anaesthetist came in to explain "stuff". Thank god I already know my choices because I don't know how I would have been able to make the decision with the pain being so strong at that point.
After signing the agreement form, it was time to go into the operation theatre. Had to say goodbye to my husband at that point, so that was pretty sucky having to go through the process alone this time around :( ie no one to scream abuses to haha :p
Thank god the nurses, anaesthetist and Dr D was in good cheer. Everyone was joking around so I was able to keep myself calm. The anaesthetist inserted the anaesthetic thingy at the base of my spine, the process wasn't painful but a bit uncomfortable. He commented that I'm pretty calm compared to most ladies having to go through an emergency surgery, I just smiled and said "Nothing much I can do about it, right ?" And Dr D was like " dia memang macam tu, ok je all the time"
After 2-3 minutes the docs checked whether I've started feeling numb, I told them I can't feel the pain no more, so they take it as a YES and Doc D told me she's gonna cut a small section and please tell her if I feel any pain (I can't see anything as they put a screen between my chest and belly). After that I felt a lot of tugging and pulling but no pain. 10 minutes passed when I hear the sweet sound of the baby crying :) the ever so cheery anaesthetist (whom I can't remember his name for the life of me) practically shouted " it's a girl" :) Two more minutes of tugging, another cry joined the room and I was told " you got another baby girl and they are perfect :)"
The nurses cleaned the babies up and did the whole Apgar testing and when they are done, showed the two babies to me. Unlike Ryan's birth I wasn't able to hold and nurse them immediately because I was still on the operating table getting sewn back up :p at the same time I was told by the paediatrician that she had to rushed the younger twin to the nursery to be put under the warmer as she's a bit small and wasn't able to regulate her temperature on her own.
The process of getting me stitched back up is longer than the "cutting" process, anyway I learned more about my dear gynea and her love for designer bags especially "Hermes" and how she bought her 4 kids a BMW each haha. Jealous mak :p. Everything was all done by 11am and I was put under observation for 30mins before being wheeled back to my room.
Anyway seeing Lan waiting outside the OT was such a relieved :p we had to wait for a bit before they send "kakak" to us. Adik wasn't warmed out enough so we had to wait even longer.
I had a bit of a scare when I started bleeding heavily 2 hours after the surgery. I remember telling Lan that I felt clammy and uncomfortable and maybe we should ask the nurses to changed the sheets. When the nurse came in, she was shocked to see I was soaked in blood from waist to toe. They administer some pitocin, massage blood clots out of me and I was given some painkiller. I remembered feeling drowsy as hell but refusing to sleep until I get to see both my girls.
We were in the hospital for 4 days 3 night. Had to stay a day extra because my kakak had a bad case of jaundice. Alhamdullilah her birubilin level decreases after a few rounds of phototheraphy, so we were cleared to leave the next day.
So far my journey taking care of the girls who Lan and I decided to name Iman Khadeeja and Ranya Fatimah has been pretty smooth. Alhamdullilah :) of course it is a bit of a challenge taking care of 2 newborns and a very jealous 2 year old but we've managed so far with the help of my parents, sister and a whole load of patience. Mr Azlan is really taking his role as daddy anak 3 fantastically :) so lucky to have him around (buek he made me write this)
More on the progress of Ryan, Iman and Ranya once I get the time to blog on my lappie and not the BB like I'm doing now (should spend less time online shopping haha)
I can't believe I'm a mother of 3 at 28 hahaha

Bipolar Itchiness :p
So what's new?? I'm schedule for a c-section on 131211. Both babies are in a breech position so after thorough discussion with my gynea + hubby we decided that is the best way to go. Both babies are healthy and have passed the 2.5kg mark and am now over 37 weeks old *alhamdullilah*
Anyway things have been pretty uneventful up till last week when I caught a bad case of dermatitis (caused by pregnancy hormones). The itchiness was CRAZY and my scratching aggravated the condition and me eating a bunch of crabs triggered an allergic reaction and later some infection of water blisters on my leg. Drama :p the blisters was as big as a 50cent coins and I can barely walked. My gynea referred me to a skin specialist and after a round of meds, lotions and antibiotics, alhamdullilah I'm doing so much better :)
Was feeling a bit down when all these was happening. Normal I guess when you're carrying a 5kg load on your belly, pain in your legs and kena melayan a 2 year old who's acting out for attention.
My mood was awful on da first day of treatment and patience was running a bit thin that I did lose my temper at Ryan once or twice. I felt bad afterwards and him being him did not hold grudges :p Anyway my mum told me to be patient and Allah won't test me if he don't think I can take it.
That got me thinking hard, why am I sitting there feeling bad for myself when I had an almost perfect 34 weeks of pregnancy. Some people got it so much worst with morning sickness, complications etc. My colleague even told me she suffered an almost similar condition for 4months of pregnancy. For someone who's carrying twins I got it pretty easy. Anyway nothing that is truly worth it comes easy, right? If this is the small price I have to pay before I'll get to hold the twins in my arms I will gladly take it.
As cliché as it may sound, the positiveness really help. My road to recovery have been great so far. My skin is 70% back to normal condition and full recovery will probably be after birth since it is due to hormones.
Don't know if I'll be blogging more this week but do pray for our safety and really can't wait to meet my little munchkins next week *insyallah* Till then take care *hugz*

34 Weeks and Counting

The babies are still breech so the possibility of going through a c-section procedure is getting higher. Babies at 36weeks ++ (especially in multiple pregnancy) will rarely change their position due to the lack of space so I’ve 2 more weeks to cajoled the little ones to make the 180.
At the same time I’ve started reading articles on C-sect to increase my knowledge on the procedures/after care/cost etc. The more l learn the more nervous I get but at least I can manage my expectations. For all I know I may end up delivering the babies normally after all but it does not hurt to be well prepared, right?
Babies Preparations
We managed to wash all the baby laundry during the long weekend. Actually I have to credit hubby for carrying out the actual deed. I HATE doing laundry with a passion and as cute as the little clothes and mittens looks they are actually a b***ch to wash and lipat.
Since that one (boring) task is done, we’re left with this week project which is to prepare my hospital bag, transfer babies’ clothes to my parent’s house and finish cleaning up the babies’ playroom once and for all. Believe it or not I still haven’t decided on the paint colour yet. So the playroom deco project is pending at the moment because mummy is being her normal fickle self.
Anyway, we’re having doa selamat for the babies (and mummy) at our Surau today. I think holding the ceremony at the surau is a good call on my parents behalf as very minimal preparations needs to take place (order pre packed food/ buy drinks + fruits + packed everything in a bag) Hopefully, everything goes well *insyallah*
Hari Raya Aidiladha
Our Raya celebration this year was good. We went back to Perak for a day to visit Lan’s grandparents on Saturday. Ryan had so much fun playing with Lan’s younger cousins. On Sunday, everybody woke up bright and early to enjoy the normal yummy Raya feast of ketupat and rendang and my sister made nasi beriyani for lunch.
Later Lan brought Ryan to check out the cows and when daddy was busy helping with “melapah” the lembu, mummy and baby spent half of the afternoon napping (haha) We received so much free food and meat on Sunday :) We went back to Jalan Kebun later in the evening so Ryan can see my in laws.
Monday was mostly spent at home cleaning and lepaking. I don’t feel like going out much this days, even for shopping (*gasp*) Holidays are best spent rolling on the bed with Ryan (Lan optional) doing our best dinosaur impersonation hehehe.
Have a good week everyone!

Unproductive Friday Evening
Anyway here's some photo update on last weekend activities and of my fav baby boy in the whole wide world : Mr Muhammad Ryan Daniel.
Ryan with his latest acquisition courtesy of Nenek. The board is kinda cool, you can take out the foam alphabet and it will reveal a picture associated with the particular alphabet. This is Nenek's pre birthday present to Ryan *sigh* my little boy gets something new from nenek on a weekly basis that I feel sorry for the twins because I'm seriously out of new toys to buy for them.
Hubby's BBQ burger. Ok la but he thinks that the meat is kinda dry. But I love the onion ring. Ryan was asleep in his stroller when we reach Citta. So managed to have our lunch in peace (haha) All in all not bad and I think I'll bring my parents here after my pantang to celebrate and as a form of thank you :)Went to Meatworks @Citta Mall Last week because I was craving for the steak. My sirloin was ok, nothing spectacular though. Ryan playing "badminton" with daddy thanks to Upin n Ipin's influence. I can't find an age appropriate badminton racket so I bought him this tennis set from Daiso instead. Best RM5 I spent so far because it is currently his fave toy.
Atuk and nenek lorat. 10 mins after we reached the barber and while waiting for our turn, my dad BBMed me asking whether Ryan is crying, I just said la Ryan muka panic, pastu tak sampai 5 minit my parents dah muncul depan the shop. Moral support tahap dewanya mesti mamak tu geram, lepas ni kena ban hahaha
Hehehe Ryan is getting really good at performing his solat. Dah pandai takbir, hand position waktu fatihah, duduk antara dua sujud and sujud. Tapi selalunya 1 1/2 rakaat je la pastu dia bosan so still have to take turns. Tapi kalau nak sembahyang jemaah selamba je we let him loose mcm kat Mekah dulu, he knows well enough not to kacau :)Anyway the kindy have transferred Ryan to the 3 year old class despite him not even turning 2 yet. I guess they are now going on the year of birth basis. I'm a little worried at first but after a very successful first week of constant praises by his "ibu's" and guru besar my worry is assuaged :) Ryan is doing really well, no tantrums, followed all the activities with no problems and dah kurang minum susu using his bottle. So proud of my abang long :)

My little buns in the oven...
For some reason the nearer I am to my EDD, more work seem to be piling in. Not that I mind, it’s a good distraction especially on the days when my heartburn is really acting up. With the babies growing at an incredible rate of 1.4kg and 1.6 kg respectively @32 weeks and nearing the expected growth spurt during the 32-36 weeks span I bet it will only become worst.
Ironically, the medicine that is helping me control my contraction is also the culprit that is aggravating the heartburn. Oh well, some sacrifice on my part in order to ensure that the little munchkins can bake longer in the oven. No more midnight snacks, overly spicy food and chocolaty stuff for the time being.Trust me projectile vomiting in the middle of the night is no fun *TMI* hehe
Anyway, since 60% of twins are born premature (according to babycenter) I choose to plan things on a weekly basis unlike with Ryan where the aim was just to give birth after 37 weeks.First I aim to carry the twin up to 28 weeks, and then 30 etc.
Alhamdullilah we have passed the 32 weeks mark and next week the babies will be 34 weeks old *insyallah* and hopefully they’ll cruise pass 36 weeks + be over 2kg and not have to spend time in the hospital after birth. I’m sure the babies will cooperate with mummy, right :)
My cutey babies have moved from their transverse (lying position) position into being breach (heads up legs down) Doc is still kinda positive that they have plenty of time to turn in 4 weeks time, so I will only know the verdict whether I’ll be going for normal/C-section when I reach 36 weeks.
Other than heartburn and the normal 3rd trimester discomforts, everything have been going very well so far. Preparations is 95% done, we just need to wash the babies clothing and prepare the hospital bag this week and move some stuff to my parents house in preparation of confinement.
So that’s a little baby’s update from da mama. Anyway, pray that my SPMS goes well tomorrow *insyallah*

Party Planning : Ryan's Turning Two :)
Anyway Ryan's 2nd Birthday is about 2 months away. We're not planning on a big bash but just a small celebration at home and another mini celebration in school which consist of preparing party favours for his "classmates" and teachers.
I'm a bit freaked out because Ryan's birthday will fall during my pantang period, which means I won't be free to go out of the house to get things done. However, I will not use that as an excuse to not make the extra effort to make 20th December 2011 special.I don't want Ryan to feel sideline by the arrival of his siblings.
Hubby pointed out that our son can't even tell the time much less the date of his birthday so I shouldn't worry :p (haha) Anyway, Lan also pointed out that I can always order the cakes online (like I've been doing all along), designed the box/bag favours first and he and my parents can always go get the other stuff for me later. But because I'm crazy, we actually have conversation that sounds like this:
Me: "But what if you got the wrong box/colour/brand/Milo kotak?"
Lan: "How can I get the wrong type of Milo kotak?? Why can't you just tell me the exact colour/brand etc and I will get it for you"
Me: "What if they don't have the particular thing I wanted and I can't be there to make the decision blah blah blah.."
Lan: *looks confused* "Tiba2 the whole of Klang will be sold out of the box you wanted because you're not there??? B, I tell you what, apa kata you pergi beli all the kotak/jajan/milo now and store it at our house. That way you'll get to CHOOSE apa yang you nak"
Hehehe I think by that time Lan has lost interest in our pointless conversation and dah malas nak layan. I know he was being sarcastic but that is what I'm planning to do anyway.
Last year's Birthday Theme: Sesame Street
This year's top 3 choices: Dinosaurs, Cars2 or Upin & Ipin
I'm leaning toward Upin and Ipin for school (sebab most of the kiddies will be able to relate to it better and it is more gender neutral) and a mix of Dino and Cars for celebration @home and Ryan's proposed birthday presents :) (Takut tak sempat nak get his present on time, so gonna buy it ahead of time and hide it under my bed)

I love the idea of brown bagging the party favours. Cool :)
My other plan is to personalize the gift boxes according to the choosen theme.
Hubby proposed on getting some personalize choc covered Oreo's instead of cupcakes as a part of the favours. Me like :) something different...Anyway I will continue to scout for more favours ideas . Feel free to share your thoughts if you have any...
Have a good weekend everyone *muackz*
